I know, I know. I really wanted to listen to Mr. Shirley. He sure knows his stuff. I now have to make notes for everything, then a note to remind me where I left the notes. Saturday I went grocery shopping and used the list from who knows when. Now if I find my note I need to date them. Hit my noggin one too many times on a Stock shed bin door.

Great video guys. It's amazing what you can do with a GoPro. I remember a video you did before and this has equally good production value. And you can fish too. I saw Italo and his crew film a show this past September and they had a shoulder held behemoth of a setup. You guys can do the same for I don't how many thousands less $$$$. And those goldies are just beauty fat little buggers. If our long Walleye here on Erie had the girth a Quinte Walleye does we are talking world records being broken for sure.

Raf it was to be used for music, not into Netflix at all. It all is a moot point because I ran into our local satellite guy who did our Xplornet dish and he tells me we don't have enough " band width" I think he said. He said it will be sketchy, he's the expert around here. We only were able to get 56K modem until 2 years ago when someone put up a tower my square dish can see. That's why we have been off line for over 10 years at home here and I had a IT gale at my office I depended on to do all admin stuff when I had the business, much has changed since 2004, actually pretty well everything. I should have been listening to her more closly. j ace, you have to remember you are talking to a 60 year old. I go as far back as Word Perfect 5.1 for DOS, yes pre Windows OS and you lost me at the first acronym. You guys have to remember Moses and I played ball together at school when we used chisels and tablets of limestone to write with. Thanks all, much appreciated.

I didn't even want to give his name, he wanted fame now he has infamy. I figured you knew or was familiar with the family Irish being an aviator and all. Now back to Kigigi.

With all this retirement talk lately...

That is the only way I would ever invest in a company. I need to see the operation for myself up close. You can tell if they are serious and able to make a profit. A cousin invested 6 figures in a BC mine that turned out to be basically a Mom and Pop operation with a PO box, idiot. It's worth an airline ticket and a truck rental to take a look yourself. Show up like you want to own the place and they will give you a tour and lunch. -
Fran Tarkenton, I watched him play. He is a good friend of the man that owns Carmen's banquet center in Hamilton and has told us a few stories about them golfing together at Augusta where Mr. Tarkenton is a member. I have been forced to watch AFL and NFL ball since I was 4, so after 56 years I should remember some stuff. I played from 8 to 26. For a few years I never watched a entire game now I will spend Sundays watching all day. I've never seen faster and stronger kids as this last few seasons. When ever I see a helmet rolling along the field I look to see if there is a head in it. Pet peeve, those long corn roll braids the kids are wearing today. I loved it last week when someone tackled the receiver by the hair, totally legal the ref told him. H I wonder when the NFL will make a rule for that, there's a rule for everything else. He actually got an earful from the head coach. 20 years ago the coach told you to get a hair cut you did, not now, probably in his contract. Every time I hear about someone losing a loved one because of drunk driving I want to give it to a drunk driver. I know quite a few people out here that drive drunk. One called the police on me for assaulting him when I tried to take his keys away, They arrested the idiot but the charges never stuck even though he admitted it. I'm sorry to hear about your Uncle, I know how it feels, such a waste.

Saw Mark Kruppa acting in a Canadian made for TV production a few years back. He wasn't bad really.

Manitou I once went into the stadium early to watch the first round of warm ups. I was 20 feet from Marino. He was throwing passes 20 yards on a rope. It sounded like a golf ball going by, zawhoosh. I have never heard that sound from a football before or since. I've heard a similar sound but not like that. He had the strongest arm I have ever seen, or heard. Footballs are not supposed to make a sound like that. No way. The only cooler guy under pressure had to be Montana. Marino got better in the last 5 minutes than the first 55. He was part of the Elway, Kelly and Marino class of 83', and in total there are currently 7 Hall of Famers from that single draft. One of the teams started the rumor that Marino had a drug problem at Pitt.to drop his worth so they could get him lower in the pool, Miami? No will say even today. That's why Marino went to Miami that wasn't looking for a QB but took him anyway, so goes the story. Elway refused to play for the Colts that had the #1 pick. He said he would play for the Yankees that had picked him in their draft. Steinbrener said he was the second coming of Mickey Mantle. I think he wouldn't play for Frank Kush who was known as a taskmaster and fitness freak. Marino wasn't known for time he spent in the weight room, none actually. Kush coached the Tiger Cats for a few years. Want a story about Kush, PM me, I can't tell it here. There are many documentaries and books written about a freaking NFL draft from 83'.

Have not missed one, he is one talented man. My lady loves it too. I love he is doing what he does and I can't wait to see what city and musicians he will visit next. If anyone likes an eclectic mix of genres you have to catch it. New Orleans and seeing the old bars still open was fantastic. Then again the Seattle episode was great. The desert episode was different, not my favorite.

Don't you get those xxx movies at night free on Bell? I bet they will watch them.

I always wondered why we pick the teams we do to be fans of? I was a fan of Dallas because Bob Hayes was a receiver then and he was once the fastest man in the world. The Bears and Dick Butkas the greatest middle linebacker ever to play the position and Gale Sayers probably the greatest running back to ever play the position. Our HS school team was the Bears and I played inside linebacker and running back. At the same time a Browns fan because our coach loved the Browns and our uniforms were exactly that of the Browns uniforms including the pumpkin head helmets. Stayed with the Bears for years because of the great defencive teams and the other greatest running back to ever play the late great Walter Sweetness Payton. Man there's many greatest to ever play at the same position for me, lets call it a tie. Regardless of him being a monster you can argue that OJ was as well. 3 way tie. Lets not forget Barry Sanders too. And if I don't mention Jim Brown I should be hung. Did I miss anyone.

Found a follow up done last year. I do have to give kudos to the couple. Most people scamed or that do something somewhat stupid generally keep it to them selves. At least this family decided to share this sad saga so others may learn from it. I was close with the numbers and the story. My memory isn't completely gone. Actually this Winsor papers article is a readers digest version of the Spec article. A very unsettling thing happened here in \Haldimand a few years back. A solar panel salesman knocked on a homeowners door and sold them 60K worth of solar panels with the aim to sell power back into the grid. Long story short after a 20K down payment and signing a contract after re mortgaging the farm the installation of the panels on the ground was done. When it came time to notify Haldimand Hydro power was coming they were told that the Dunnville system couldn't handle one more watt until the new substation was completed "sometime in the future" because of all the solar arrays now. It was in our weekly rag and I have never heard a follow up story. There were too many screw ups to list. Another thing on the to Google list. A local farmer and acquaintance has a very large solar system on his new barn that has the one sided sloped roof. The build up of snow is the biggest problem, generating far less or no power when covered and leaves enough snow it needs to be moved by front end loader. And unsafe to be under it. The other is not enough sunlight this past summer, supposedly it will average out. This system was big money, he says he should have gone with the lease. The other thing was insurance for the building, His insurer which was a local Mutual wouldn't touch it, it cost him money he didn't factor into the overhead. As a residential property I would check for insurance for sure. This is fairly new to all players. And I would never do business with anyone cold calling me or knocking on my door, ever. The Marine company that builds commercial vessels down the road put in what was then a huge a windturbine 13 years ago and the local building inspector finally raised his hands and said do what you have to do, they had never seen one before. Now there are 300 locally that tower over this toy system he has. Technology changes and quickly.

1 guy, I'm surprised actually. I've been following the Bills since they were in the AFL. Mom is from North Tonawanda so I didn't have much choice. Had season tickets for a few years in the 90's. After those Super Bowls I can't really say fan. I've never been a fan of any team really, not in the sense of the word. Saw my first live Bills game OJ's rookie year, he wore #36 that night for his first exhibition game. There's a trivia question that will never come up. The first day of school Mr. Ballard asked the class what they did over the summer, did I have a story for them, kind of trumped the I went to the cottage or Camp Whatchawanta stories.

It's on the calendar. Works out great as we have a party that night and it's on 56 in Binbrook so I can stop in the Creek for an hour or so then meet my lady at the Xmas party, perfect. If anyone from Hamilton wants at least a one way designated driver PM me, if I have 2 beers it's one over what I usually drink on a wild night on the town. I can't stay too long but unless you plan on closing the place I can drive you home after a few hours. Look forward to it, again. Forgot last year to mark it down. Same goes for last months Stelco club meeting, again.

What show gives tips C10? Yes there are a few but few. Charlie Wray as long as you are using Seagar line and he might not be on WFN. I get my fill on Saturday AM. All Canadian. Angler and Hunter is good. Charlie too, always can put up with Bobby I. Angler and Hunter doesn't seem to plug as much but the production values are poor, and I enjoy the hunting features. I skip Italo's show when on TSN, I'll leave it at that. The fishing show I really enjoy is the French Canadian guy Cyril ?????. I'm terrible at names and titles sorry. He goes to destinations here and even south the average Joe can afford, even in Mexico. Drive the Jeep up to a beach and fish, go into a small fishing village and hire a regular fisherman and pay him a few peso's to take you out in his beat up boat. May not be too safe, oh yes "Fishing Adventurer" is what it's called. Another is the Englishman, name???? Monster Fish or something. Exotic places I will never be able to afford until my next 649 win and a good story line as well, usually someone was eaten by the unknown monster and he's going to find it, usually some giant Catfish. Whenever someone is eaten by a fresh water fish it usually ugets my attention.

Talk about crashing a party am I invited? I know a few of you guys.

Charges laid in Detroit River muskie incident
Old Ironmaker replied to John Bacon's topic in General Discussion
A suspension of a fishing license is a joke. Drunks regularly drive while under suspension, some one like this JDMG (jerkbutt duffus moronic goof) is going to fish licensed or not. What ever he gets will be a slap on the wrist, if he gets even convicted, probably not. If he gets anything I think it should be this. He has to get up in front of around 100 members of Musky's Canada and members of OFHA and a few of us and have him go through what he did in detail. I have to add that the bar will be open and free for a few hours before he gets up there and before he does we show the video a few times as well as his stupid apology that went on TV after he realized he was a gonner. That I want to see. -
My first cold smoke generator OMG it works so well!
Old Ironmaker replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
It is a picture of the smoker I would love to see, not the fish. I've had smoked salmon and it came out of a smoker that sat overnight in a brine. No cold smoking after dried. I know that 100% because I helped to do it at a pals cottage. I have used that liquid smoke stuff and I wonder if cold smoking the liquid is how they infuse the smoke flavor in the bottle? -
I see much about hockey here but nothing about football. This afternoon I'm getting 3 good 1PM games here on Bell, sometimes 4 some Sundays which is great. The Steelers game was close going into the 4th until Big Ben put up 16 or so unanswered points against a good Bengals team. One a beautiful 94yard pass and run, that don't happen everyday. The question is, is it just me or does Rothlisburger look like he ate another small farm animal this week? His head is a big as a Brama Bulls now and he has more chins than a Chinese phone book. Man that guy is getting huge, that what makes his quickness and tight mobility even more amazing. Good night Irene Cinnci, he just put 6 more up on the board. Cinnci giving up an averge of 79 yards on the ground and Lavion Bell blew them up for 235 combined rushing and recieving, so far. 5 minutes to go. 42-21 Pittsburg, 1/2 hour ago they were down by 3. Puts the Steelers back into the Wildcard race. The Winternet is getting a workout here on OFC today.

My first cold smoke generator OMG it works so well!
Old Ironmaker replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
So you cold smoke it first then smoke it the regular way? Any drying of meat we did with Dad took a few weeks at least. 3 hours drying something is strange. I may and probably missed something. Email me a small piece since pics don't do it justice. Post a pic of the cold smoker please, very interesting. I love your sense of humour big guy. Drool on the keyboard, don't you just hate that. By the way you have mail. -
I'll say it again I don't want to watch a 1/2 hour infomercial and pay for it. Because that's what most are. I liked the World Tarpon Tour with guys and near naked gals, the gals not the guys, fishing 3 feet from each other for 100 lb plus monsters. That is the only show I miss, I wonder why? I couldn't watch Mariko Izumi's show, I've known her dad for years, her wardrobe is 90% bikinis. No way I can see that. I called Bell 3 years ago to cancel WFN. The kid said " Sir it's only $1.99 a month plus tax" I said if $1.99 isn't anything you have my address right? " Yes Sir" good put a toonie in an envelope every month and sent it, I don't even want the HST. "Ok sir consider it cancelled."

If I put a free sign on an item it seems to sit there for a while. Put a for sale and a fake phone number on it and it will be gonzo overnight. Jim next door had a very ornate antique pump organ that had to be 300 pounds easy, solid as a rock, for free with a free sign, it sat for weeks. He put the for sale sign on at it was "stolen" shortly afterwards. An organ sitting in the rain can't be good but it would have made a great bar with the roll away top. I seriously considered doing just that but looking at how the thing was put together I would never had gotten it apart to do it. Built like a Sherman tank. I love the Winternet some days.

X2. Really enjoy smoked anything occasionally. Some can eat it daily but I can't. I love it and will do a pork shoulder on the BBQ with a tray of smoking chips once a year, but can't eat smoked as a diet staple. Ocne bought an entire Croatian smoked pork leg for some reason (smoked Prociutto) and gave most of the thing away after a few months, just too much. More of an appetizer food I think. -
Last kick at the soft water can? Fishing.
Old Ironmaker replied to moxie's topic in General Discussion
I just posted a topic at the same time as you did this Moxie re: getting out today. Looks a lot colder there than here on the north Erie shoreline. Braving the cold sure paid off for you my man. Quinte? edit: of course it is, the jpeg says so, duhh. Those are some fat beauties you got there. Way to go, your the Dad of the day. I'm available for adoption.
