Yea that's old enough to retire from the Cop shop. Actually some pack it in after 10 years or so, get some meat on their resume and move to a less hazardous branch of law enforcement, or go into lucrative private security. One kid I know landed a job with a wealthy family for a 6 digit salary including a nice place on the estate, driving kids to school, wife shopping and the patriarch to the airport and meetings. Sometimes accompanying them on the private plane to exotic locals. Nice gig but on call 24/7/365.

I still don't get it, but that's usually the case. Someone tells me a joke and give the polite chuckle. 3 days latter I'm howling suddenly for no apparent reason. My wife knows I'm nuts, has for 25 years.

Man there are so many things to be bothered by in today's society, someone's post shouldn't be one of them. What really bothers you I bet is that someone doesn't love their Ram. Don't sweat it Sinker, not worth the bother.

Out with the old and in with the new. Some of the new CO's are retired Cops I have learned. They seem to take enforcement a bit more serious. That is until they have banged their heads against the stone walls of Queen's Park one too many times and become complacent like most that are on any job too long.

I am going to throw this thing in the lake.I touch the spacebar and sometimes it dumps the site. I have 705-743-2121. They will give a location and if you ask for the nurses station they might give you a general status like stable, resting unless serious then they won't tell you anything. Tell them you are family and apologize for bothering them as you know they are extremely busy. Don't mention Katty Wynnes name.

Akri didn't do anything and most would do exactly the same. Your vehicle is making a whistling sound and your supposed to pull over and call for a tow? Immediately after leaving the dealership. If they let the vehicle go out like that it must not be a biggie. I would and most people would do exactly the same. Oh I said it but will say it again. Buddy bought an 04' 3/4 ton Ram Hemi off the lot in 03'. 2 complete tranny replacements under warranty. A few thousand K's outside the warranty what do you think happened, yep another one. Lawyers got involved, lucky it was his Son because Chrysler has more lawyers then he does. They put in the 3rd tranny. 2 years later, yep deja vu all over again. He plowed snow yes, but that's why they make a 3/4 ton, not to go to the Mall shopping. I own a Silverado. Not because it's better because I have found dealing with GM all my life as Dad always drove GM since his 55 Chev. and they have always been good to him and I. That and we made the steel for Chryslers so I had some insider info.

Advice please on purchasing gas generator.

Of course it won't Dan. I have my system set up so that in 10 minutes the entire system is drained 100% including the hot water heater and line to the foot valve in the cistern even without hydro. It will take longer without power but it will not freeze. I put a vent on the top of the heater so it is drained 100%, guys think it's empty because water stops running out, not. I have a gold metal in the Cottage Winter Olympics after 3 years of soldering split lines and, and, and.. Don't forget the water trapped in the washing machine hoses. -
1/8 inch clear tubing for hooks where to buy?
Old Ironmaker replied to buick14's topic in General Discussion
Invest in a "Tackle Mate" box. They come in 8" and I think 12" for Musky guys. The best 90 bucks I have ever spent for a box. They hold up to 225 lures if you hook 1 onto each slot, 225!!! Still room for stuff in the ends for stuff. Look online, they keep all the hooks separated and easy to flip the vertical "pages" to see what you have. I have them organized by brand and or style and colour. Nothing more frustrating when you are in a hurry trying to get the lure that your buddy is slamming them with and you come out with 7 lures all hooked and jammed together in 1 big mess. I am amazed how hooks can get into rings etc. couldn't do it if you tried. -
I've heard of the white bucket brigade but not the yellow brigade.

Hi Justin and welcome to OFC. Why not give us a bit of an intro about yourself and what you like to fish for, where, when and all that. Like Bill asked what do you want to catch? Is that better? That's an inside thing Justin, not asking you.

Advice please on purchasing gas generator.
Old Ironmaker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Well sometimes a favour gets rewarded. I was chatting with my 87 year old next door neighbour this AM. Telling her about looking for a generator, she has a NG genny that comes on automatically and her Son gets a message on his smart phone telling him it's on, she doesn't have a cell phone in 2017 and lives alone. She reminded me that twice since we have been here she basically stayed with us and we fed her when we had long term power outages, once during a March ice storm and we had heat and she couldn't get out to her friends plave because of the roads plugged with trees and power lines down and once during that summer outage province wide. We have gas so we can cook and heat water. She is a snowbird and I water her 60 house plants twice a week and drive her to and from the airport every year and we keep an eye on her when she is here. She said don't think about buying one. If we have a power failure we are to stay at her place. Now I can look at installing a NG or Propane genny at our next place and not spend the bucks for a gas portable now that will be redundant in the future, Whooorah. Thanks for all the help, I now know 110% more about genny's than I did a few days ago. -

OK thanks Fisherman, I have no idea what you are talking about BUT I get it. I won't cheap out, you get what you pay for. -
Them are some nice slabs there Bill. Look like Erie Smallies. Many here will use the largest bait they can buy, Golden Shinners are great. I love that HBird 958C DI you have there Bill. My next upgrade I think. How do you like it? it looks like a very detailed image on it. No fishing for anyone here today, I hope not, gusts of 94 KPH this afternoon.

Rapala Shadow Rap.....what a piece of junk!

I am a big fan of Reef Runners, use them with great success here longlining for Walleye on Erie. My go to body bait. The other go to here is a Ripplin' Red Fin, hammered the Walleye on a small lake east of Point Au Barril. No one there had ever seen them before. Sometimes using something or a technique not normally used on a lake really works well. -

Another question guys. If I don't get a unit with an inverter that from what I understand protects electronic items such as a PC, smart phones, can not having an invertor risk damage to my big screen TV? Samsung circa 2008/2009. 3500W/4200W Yardworks gas generator. Remote start to 80'. CTC $599.99 200 bucks off this week. The Champion Dual fuel 6500W/8125W at CTC says gas or propane, NG compatible or not? I love where they say never go flat tires, they are plastic, good marketing. Here I am spending hours shopping and trying not to over spend and my wife tells me the Cats vet bill is going to be $1000.00. Oh my oh my. -

It's strange I have never had any luck with those colours on Rappala's. -
Dave you are an intelligent man, for Heavens sakes how can you stand watching CHCH news, especially in the morning. I think they start at 06:00 and go until 10:00, they say and show exactly what was said 15 minutes before then repeat over and over and over. How much weather can change in the area in 15 minutes? I want to throw a foam brick at the TV. I'm really interested in a salad recipe at 7AM. I will watch it, for 15 minutes then go to a news program. I never want to see anyone lose a job but I did cheer under my breath when they gave the boot to that woman of which I won't name who did the features every morning, she had to be on some very expensive Cocaine to be that excited about replacement windows from Home Depot at 6 o'clock on a Monday morning. I recently listened to someone in the know on a AM talk show talk about the major cost to the TV providers, Bell, Shaw, Rodgers etc. The major cost associated is the Pro. teams with NFL football being number 1, MLB second to the NHL last and below NCAA Football and B Ball. The little old lady next door that doesn't have TSN, Sportsnet etc. is paying 60% or more of her monthly bill towards the cost that the providers pay to the big leagues for television rights. I can't remember exactly how much ABC paid for the rights to televise Monday Night Football. I know it wasn't in the Millions, it was over a Billion USD. That Billion dollars is passed on to every little old lady that pays the $35.00 or whatever it is a month for basic cable.

I still have a dozen or so 35 year old balsa wood floating Rappala's, everyone just happens to be black on glitter silver. Some are intact that need new hardware and some have been eaten until the paint is gone or crushed by big Pike and the heads are bent or lips broken off. They must have a wire inside them. Need to do an autopsy on a cold winters day. They worked then and still work today. Like they say most new tackle they come out with every year catches as many fishermen as fish. -
If I remember correctly I did find some at CTC. Most marinas carry it. Not cheap but well worth the peace of mind. For what you are doing you won't need much. It comes I a tube like tooth paste. Too bad you aren't close by, or are you? I'm in Selkirk On.

I'd take it back to where I bought it. The price of any Rappala today is just insane. They have them locked up like jewellery at our CTC stores. If they say the old song and dance make a stink when there are customers within ear shot. Worked for me, a few times at least. 16 year old kid tells me Master Craft has nothing to do with Can. Tire and the shallow well pump I bought 8 hrs ago had to be shipped to T.O. Yea right Young lady, manager please. -
Thanks Terry, amazing stuff there. A lone Wolf to boot. My wife won't watch it. She thinks meat comes shrinkwrapped on Styrofoam and she grew up on a farm, she reminds me it was a fruit farm. I told her it's a happy ending, for the moose anyway. Imagine how much money Helicopter services in the TV/Movie industry has lost to cheap drones? Lots. While we are at it this video was in a window below the wolf/moose clip. Mother nature is amazing and with todays technology we get to have a birds eye view in HD. The only 1 I have to question is the last one where the girl is attacked riding her bike. The narrator sounds like the comedian that was the DJ on Rockabilly Super Sounds of the 70's.in Pulp Fiction I believe. Steven something.

We soak the screws in 5200 before going into the plate. We use a deep course thread screw.

No land line now for a year, saving about 75 bucks per. That's a grand in a year. Better in our pocket than Ma Bell. At the end of our driveway is one of those brown Bell box connections. Only 1 person now is connected to it, it was once 8 cottages, that is until I accidentally run it over with my truck or boat trailer. They refuse to move it a few feet but spend the money to repair it when it is "accidentally" run over for the last 21 years. Talk about a waste of resources past onto the consumer.

I live vicariously through your early morning fishes Brian. I only know what time the Sun comes up if I either am just coming home from the Casino's (down to once a month) or I can't sleep, usually the latter. You keep it up Sir. For me there was nothing better than to hit the water at daybreak, from shore out front here from the beach or in the boat, a hot coffee in one hand and a rod in the other. The quiet still water, the Sun peeking up over the east tree line, the cooing and the soft chirp of waking birds, the sudden breaking the silence by the odd dog barking in the distance wakening his pal to take him for a walk. Everything all to yourself. It feels like you are the only person in the World at that time of day.
