  1. Are the boaters/non-boaters about half and half?
  2. Ha! First good smile of the day! Thanks. That's because you're reading the Sun, you're churning your heap, you're using mostly veggie scraps and perhaps even using an accelerator.
  3. Biodegradable is an overused word. Almost everything is biodegradable at various speeds. We all know that newsprint for example is biodegradable but if you bury a newspaper, after 50 years, you'll still be able to read the headlines. More important than biodegradation would be the toxicity of a product in the water supply. But hey, it's Saturday morning and I'm probably not thinking straight.
  4. OK, here's a bit of a technical question for some of you Sonar/GPS gurus out there. I know that I can probably dig the info out of google or some of the specialied shops but it'd be really nice to know what you guys think. Right now, my main unit is a Lowrance LCX 25C, It works well and I'm happy with it. At the bow I have an old Lowrance X-85. The X-85 has been gold to me for many many years...very clear and accurate readings at all times. I would like to have a unit to be able to connect to the LCX 25C. First of all I'd like to know if communication would be possible between the 25C and an HDS unit. If so... which would I be better off with as the 'slave' unit? The 25C is hefty..8000 watts. Any thoughts before I start digging. It'd be good if I could get this done for this softwater season. Thanks
  5. Leave it closed.....that's why they fill the bags. Only open when you start using them.
  6. They'll never have a problem with bandwidth.
  7. I really like the Pro Guide....Max HP on the 1825 is 90HP. Look at the 2010 pro guide....with a 200HP tiller! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! For the time being though, I'm very happy with the Princecraft 167BT with a 60HP 4 stroke. and 70lb 24V Minn Kota. It's all I need.
  8. AHHHHHHHHHH My all time favourite ice fishing video. Thanks again.
  9. You lead a charmed life, Dan.
  10. They'd better check the directions on Google....I'm there are some right turns on the way to the venue.
  11. That would be a bait and switch. A switch and bait would be ok.
  12. This was posted to our fishing news 3 days ago. The info is there.
  13. Jeremy, there was a time, 40 or so years ago, when on Lake Manitou (Manitoulin Island) that's all we ever used. There was never a need to try anything else. This was a silver hookless Williams then 12" to 24" mono with a pearl strung on the mono then a size 4 or 6 treble with a very small chunk of sucker on it. It worked perfectly while jigging aggressively or even not moving. Often getting them on the drop or the retrieve also. I haven't been there in years but I'd like to try that again.
  14. You message him, Randy. He hasn't been online since Aug 03 2010 07:55 PM
  15. You don't use good cuts of meat for jerky Paul. At least I don't.
  16. I like using a smoker. The problem is that when it gets very cold out, it's not easy to keep a constant temperature. A dehydrator is good for jerky because you can control your temps very easily. A dehydrator will also give you the possibility of making fruits, snacks and camp food as well. What I don't like about dehydrators is the constant sound of them working in the house...also, as good as some foods smell for short periods of time, the constant smell of beef jerky in the home gets to be a bit much. A dehydrator belongs in the garage. I'll be hitting the smoker again as soon as the temps rise a little....April or so.
  17. I think that most people are interested in these things but the place to air your thoughts might be another site. Maybe this one http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/index.php?showforum=16
  18. Very nice, Colin. Don't apologize for your video, it looks great to me. You seem to be a methodical type the way your stuff is laid out but I must say that that lice still looks a little on the thin side for my liking. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Good stuff, great prices and WOW! Where on earth did you find that checkout girl????????????
  20. Thanks for posting that Jeffrey. It's an excellent map resource and I bookmarked it. Welcome aboard.

Gunna need more colours to get the lodge competition going.
  23. My son Phil was at the boat show, found a 380HP V8 to power my tinny. Glad he thought of me but I don't want it...tiller is what I use. He went to the Naden Boats display and was looking at them and said how well made they were. He actually said, " I guess Wayne has a hand in production." That's a good comment coming from the boy, Wayne. Hope the show paid off. We have our show here next week.....didn't see you in the lineup for here.
