I would suggest a Honda Pilot.

Great boat...I'd wrap the truck too though, otherwise, people will think that your pullin' someone elses' boat.

Welcome back, Billy. A quick rendition of "Man of Constant Sorry" and you're pardoned.

Excellent result guys! Congrats!

Thanks guys. Brian, I don't think that this would be worth very much at all as it was just a photograph of a piece he'd done.

Yesterday J and I took a run out to Varennes to visit a friend of mine. His name is Michel Chayer..he's been a starving artist for as long as I've known him. His wife Suzanne just retired from teaching in the last year. I've been watching his career for some years now and over the years, I've purchased a collection of his works. As a wood carver, Michel is probably one of the best there is. Well today his shop is open to the public for viewing and possible purchases I suppose. There was to be a preview yesterday by some lowlife, scumbag public "dignitaries" . Don't ask me why I showed up yesterday. I went and had some time with them before the rif raff politicians arrived. Last year, Michel was fortunate enough to be honoured at the Louvre in France. His pic was all over the subway stations (called Metro stations there) and over night, his works more than quintupled in value. Well, we're by the water, the Larry, at the back of his property and he remembers one particular piece that I bought from him for $1400 and point blank offers me $5,000 for it. It took me all of NO seconds to refuse and told him that when I bought his work, it wasn't a handout...I bought them because I liked them and they all had a prominent place in my house. So the conversation turns to other things and he tells me about his house and shop that he bought for $129,000 a few years ago and that someone had been by earlier in the week to offer him 500K for it...I side glanced and said "and your answer was?"......after no seconds in thought he said " no Roy...I bought the place because Suzanne and I liked it." Exchanged a wink and knew that we were on the same page. Shook his hand again..hugged Suzanne and was getting in the car as the first scumbag arrived. Just as I was leaving I lowered my window and said "Michel, don't stoop to their levels." It was an enjoyable afternoon with a friend and J had a great time discussing gardening with Suzanne. Not interesting to most people but a nice quiet time for J and I.

Congrats to you and your brother, Ryan. I haven't met the Shram dude but that Pete guy is one that I like to consider a friend. If Pete hangs with him, he's more than OK. Again, great lookin' toothies ....... quite the rush. Now, just out of curiosity, if you weren't casting, I'd like to know how far behind the boat you were trolling. And yes, Dave must be a super boss to have but don't forget, he's got you as an employee...so it's a win win as far as I see it.
-
Yeah...I can tell you who it is.
-
Might be a little late but perhaps someone can answer this in time for you.

Mike, welcome back first of all and I'm glad you're well. Take the prop off cause if everything you've said is correct, you've probably got a little fishing line wrapped around the shaft in there. Try that first.

Looking for a Good Used Spinning Reel in Toronto
Roy replied to FishingTheGTA's topic in General Discussion
Go to one of the many tackle shops in the GTA...fondle them all to find which one you like best, then pay the man $10 more than you you would have paid for a used reel shipped to your door. You'll have the advantage of seeing all of the brands and models, you'll have the manufacturer's warranty and you'll have it today. Or, Take up Hirk's generous offer. Good luck on the water. -
"looks like the thread was dusted.... it is now in the boneyard." This one is also.... everyone knows what the majority thinks...EVERYONE.

Congrats on the deal. Terrova is a good motor.
-
Raheem McHindu! Great to hear from you! Pop in from time to time...don't be shy, I enjoy your stories. You and yours, be well.
-
It was also in the status bar.
-
I would go 9.9. The motor will not need to work as hard. It'll also be easier to get a deal on and easier to sell. Just sayin'.
-
I'd go with the Colorado.
-
Oil injected 2 strokes are good motors if they've been looked after.

Krawler is talking about muskie reels so I don't know why line counters would even enter the equation. You never, or very rarely would ever need to be more that 25' away from the boat. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgUteax7KQQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgUteax7KQQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgUteax7KQQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Hey Dave, here you go. In 63 I bought two Ambidex reels. The brown one for which I'd need to check the name and number and the black Mark Six that I happened to stumble upon this morning. They were both excellent reels and the Mark Six, as old and beat up as it looks, still works as well as the day I bought it.

Great thread, Garry. I'm with you on the Stradic as well. We've probably been buying reels for the same number of years but I remember that in the early 60's, there was not much out there to beat a Mitchell....300, 304, 305, all good reels. Nowadays, technology changes very quickly and often but the Stradic is still the reel ( for the time being) that you can buy and be perfectly confident in its performance.

OK Marvin, you might be in luck. Give me the day to look after it. I had supper last night on the waterfront with my daughter and her BF of 4 years. This is right in Tourney water. I'll get back to you.

Gibbs was out much before the Jensen. Both companies have distinguished pasts but I prefer the Rufus Gibbs story. Rufus was a dude from Peterborough who moved to Vancouver...interesting as to how the company eventually changed hands but always stayed in the family. OH well...almost as good as reading the bible on a Sunday morning.

Good on ya, my friend.

Welcome aboard Kwan and Dad. Looks like a great day on Rice for you guys. Thanks for posting your report.
