  1. Very good quality largies! Nice to see there are nice fat ones in the Bog! Thanks for sharing.
  2. Thanks for the report MTP. Looks like all the junior OFNers have been on fire lately!!! Congrats to the Junior for his PB. Sons always outfish dads ... don't think there's much dads can do to change that lol
  3. I'm planning to launch at the very south end of the bay, heard that there's a public launch there ... with the high gas price and limited time to fish tomorrow I'm hoping to do some exploring there as it's much closer to me compared to the Kawartha Lakes. I guess I'll give it a shot. Thanks guys!
  4. Hi guys and girls, I'm thinking of heading out to cooks bay tomorrow for some boat fishing. As the title said, would it be a bad idea to go? Is there dead carp floating everywhere? Thanks, Victor
  5. Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for the report. We always love pic, regardless of they're blurry or not
  6. Amazing report Mike! The whirlpool is beautiful indeed, we gotta head down there sometime this year!
  7. "keeping up to dad" ?? he'll make you feel sorry for saying that real soon ... you'll have a hard time to keep up with him. lol Nice fish buddy!
  8. interesting lol. can we see some pics? ahha you didn't cover it up? I found a bucket of maize left over from last year a few weeks ago. (i thought my dad threw it out, i guess not lol) There was a big piece of white stuff at the top ... looked like a white pie or something. It was disgusting... but i dumped that out... washed it down a few times. Now it looks as good as new! When you are storing it ... make sure the water covers all the maize.
  9. I'd agree with Fisherman. There'd be the problem of "who left this mess here" ... or like "who broke ___ ?" Would it be a better idea to buy the place and then rent it out?
  10. I started picking worms for my fishing trips myself this year as well. After a rain storm they're everywhere and you can probably get 3-4 dozen easily. Good thing is, saves you money, saves you time to visit the tackle shop and it's more fun to catch fish on your "own" worms i guess lol.
  11. For that price, you're much better off getting a canoe. A used one don't cost that much. I have seen some that go as low as $100-150, it might be old and doesn't look good, but as long as it floats and is in good physical condition it should be alright. You can either find a square-sterned canoe or add a motor mount so you can put on a trolling motor.
  12. That's pretty interesting ... where could all the fish be? I've never fished the Speed River myself though. Maybe all the precipitation we've gotten this year has pushed them up/down-stream to another Dam?
  13. lol @ G's comment. O man that's an amazing price. Keep an eye out on local classifieds, once in a while they'll have small boats for a decent price.
  14. I have limited experience fishing in waders, has only done it once when MJL lended me his old neoprene one for the trout opener this year. However, I can say for sure that when i'm to get one, i will be looking for breathable for sure. We fished from 5am-12pm, walked up and down the river and the water was quite cold still. At the end of the day, my pants which I wore inside the wader, is completely soaked ... from my own sweat. It was pretty disgusting. Besides it took a while to put on/take off. Although it's not THAT bad, the breathable ones MJL was using sure looked much easier to deal with.
  15. Another vote on the Daiwa Advantage HSTA. Just started using that one this season and absolutely love it.
  16. Nice stash you got there LA. When i was around your age, I bought 1-2 lures everytime I go fishing (usually drop by a tackle shop for worms).... and now i have a huge tackle bag full of'em . You seem to like the yellow/chartuese theme alot! If you don't mind me making one suggestion, is that i'd say you can add a few more "natural color-ed" baits to your arsenal.
  17. Some nice bass you got there! The monster leeches sounds like great bait for the smallie
  18. Nice report. This post is sure gonna get Kemper excited ... he's going to be there for school real soon. Good to know there's some quality fish swimming in that river!
  19. Nice report, can't wait to see the pics. If you need help with posting pics, there's a help section in the main page. If it wouldn't work still, feel free to PM me and I'll help ya out.
  20. 2 in a row? That's pretty cool lol! They must have put up a good scrap on ur bass tackle didn't they? Are you hooked yet lol? gone_fishing: That's a hog!
  21. Some nice bass you got there! But an even better pic with the big smile on the little one's face!
  22. Have you ran seafoam through your motor Johnny? I did mine and it seemed to ran alittle smoother. Hopefully it's just the plugs and only a cheap fix.
  23. What a beauty. Congrats on the PB and thanks for sharing with us.
  24. Great report Rich. Too bad the pike wasn't cooperating but at least you guys caught some fish ... much better than sitting at work lol. I hope that there's nothing major with the motor Johnny. You guys will nail'em next time!
  25. That's gotta be the best way to spend a Sunday! WGSF from Lake O? It does look tasty tho!
