  1. i have seen people fish for (and catch) carp and bullhead at G Ross Lord, have also caught tiny pumpkinseed over there. I probably should try fishing for carp there with it being only a 10 minute drive from my place, the smell/color of the water kinda turns me off though.
  2. Sugarpacket, the scale on your fish is really interesting, you can really see the difference when you look at yours and then look at rich's. Rich, the last shot looks like you've got flowers growing out of your head. LOL
  3. Your persistent sure paid off man, totally deserve that fish after all the other skunking sessions. By the way, i'm not sure if you should show that picture to your girlfriend.
  4. Carp report from Clofchik! Seems like you got the carp catching dialed in! They stack up in there but it's pretty snaggy ... last time I lost 3 feeders in one outing ". Maybe we can hook up again when I head down to the Hammy sometime in the future.
  5. Nice fish buddy. I know you're more of a bass/pike/musky fisherman but if you have a couple hours to burn one day and you want a new PB carp, head down to one of the lake O river mouths near where you live, I'm sure you'll find some there and they put up a great fight.
  6. Check out this thread started by frozen-fire, a number of us chimed in to that one. Help with canoe purchase
  7. it's really really really easy to tie, not worth spending like 5 bucks to get 3 rigs. If u can, try to meet up with someone who knows how and get them to show you.
  8. I hope that your cell phone is not in the pockets of your pants lol, but knowing you, you probably left all your stuff scattered around on shore ! Today better be as good as yesterday
  9. Looks like a great spot to fish at, you'll get the big girls next time!
  10. ditto that haha. That's a nice brown!
  11. Glad to see you back Rich! Those are some nice slabs! and... wow... the handle of the sedona actually broke? That last carp looked kinda strange, super long, and it looks like it's deformed.
  12. Carp should be everywhere ... I have never fish that area before but if theres monsters at dunnville I don't see why they wouldn't be at the region near chatham. When's he coming home? lets go out for some big carp.
  13. I dont' know how your old net looks like, but if it's still functional, have you considered to just replace the nylon mesh with a rubber one? They sell them at Lebaron, I'm planning to do the same for mine this year. Nylon + trebles = trouble lol.
  14. Beans, you know you can always run your line through your buzzer with your hand for some of that sweet music. Steelheaders have their STD, but I think us carpers develop a beep-beep-thirst--hearing--disorder. If I don't hear that sound every once in a while, I'll start hearing imaginary beeps throughout the day. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you make out. I might make a trip up to Peterboro in the next 2weeks, will let you know if I do.
  15. Lorne, it may (or may not) be true for a carp but I think the concern is more for the bass/trout. I boil my maize either way as I think it's more appealing when all the juice is coming out of it.
  16. Nope, it's not illegal, almost every carper would chum the waters when they fish. Muskybugged's got a good point, it may sound weird but I actually have heard of bass/trout caught on corn.
  17. never even heard of it, but I googled it up and it looks like it would work. They eat all sorts of things though, people catch them corn, tiger nut, chick peas and many more. As long as it's strong enough to stay on a hair rig or a hook, should be no problem. Give it a shot and let us know!
  18. WOW! It's nice to see a report from ya out that way, it's been a while I think. edit: uh i just realized u posted one a couple days ago lol, but before that it's been a while
  19. o man, sorry to hear that you lost it, for a second I thought a carp pulled it in. I'll keep an eye out when I go carping, with that thing being "one-of-a-kind" it's pretty easy to identify.
  20. Nice work jamie, that smile is priceless!
  21. That's a nice sized carp, and looks like a decent day to fish as well. I've yet to have a largemouth that smashed my "top-water-corn" but I have heard it happen, pretty funny indeed. Just a side note though, if you're not planning to keep them, try to avoid holding them by the gill plate. Thanks for the report.
  22. Amazing pics man, so this is your maiden voyage on the sportspal? Congrats for sliming up the new-to-you canoe! Actually, I don't know if I should believe you or not, since there was no fish pics, and the few times that i went to scugog i only caught small WGSF haha, thanks for the report.
  23. the steelhead are calling for you haha. That's a pretty one u got there, must have been a fun fight especially at the whirlpool. Randy and I both managed 2 on saturday morning, nothing over 20 though.
  24. so you finally bought a net for this ? lol!! nice work man, that definitely was a great day.
  25. sounds like u had a decent day other than the part at desjardin... we need to go hunt some bigger ones! that's a nice looking carp, and yup, it looks like a mirror... geez, why haven't i caught one of those still.
