Good luck and I'm pretty sure that you'll enjoy it, especially in a field that you already love so much. I hope that you'll still be able to get out and I look forward to your reports!

I kept the stats and just sent it off to MJL, he should be compiling a report sometime soon.

Nice report frog guy ! I spent a night outside at the kawarthas area and it was definitely cooler than 10-13C, more like 5-8C.
-
Some nice ones there Trevor! Good to see the little guy holding his catch with that big smile! I just did an overnighter ... and got home 2 hours ago ... MJL will be posting a report within the next couple of days. Hopefully i'll be able to join you guys on some salmon action!

I learned my lesson after that ... now I won't eat anything that's greasy, with hot dogs, I could just toss them anywhere and fight my fish haha. It was a pleasure meeting/fishing with you Beans, I actually got a fish right after you drove off and we got about 3-4 fish within the next 45min ... Enjoyed your stories especially when the fishing was pretty slow in the morning ... I was just a little bit zoned out as I didn't get a chance to rest during the night because of all the action Hopefully we can do it again soon! I got home not too long ago and I just want my bed now.

Driving down to Point Pelee & Detroit (kinda NF)

Thanks Pikehunter & Shore_Lunch We do plan on renting bikes at pelee island ... $20 for a full day ... helps kill some time I guess as I don't think there is really that much to do on the island. I will bring a travel rod and try to catch a fish or two. Thanks again. -
My condolences to you and your family HTHM.

don't forget all the safety equipment (whistle, flashlight, rope, etc...). I'd just pick up one of those fox 40 kits when they come on sale.

Hey OFC, I'm heading west with the family for the upcoming weekend and I'm hoping someone who has done something similar can let me know where/what is worthwhile to visit. There wouldn't be much fishing time as I'm with the whole family. As of now, we plan to visit Point Pelee National Park, spend a day on Pelee Island. Of course we'll go over to states side for BPS and prime outlet for the ladies. Am I missing anything here? I will try to squeeze in a few hours of fishing I guess, any "must-fish" areas? Thank you once again! Victor

2000 Kilometers, 2 Anglers and 1 unforgettable night
Victor replied to Bly's topic in General Discussion
That was indeed EPIC carole!!!!! I really enjoyed the read and wish you guys have landed that monster. Thank you for taking the time to share with us! -
I agree with everyone here... keep'em all. I don't even have an idea of how many bags of soft plastics I have... everytime I see 99cents/bag sale at BPS I just couldn't resist. On another note though, since Dan started, I'll give ya $21.

That's a real chunky one, must have made a crazy boil/splash when it took the frog!

thanks for the heads up I was at my local CTC yesterday (shepperd/leslie) and they also have the shimano bob izumi sig. series on sale for $40 (they usually sell them for $80). Personally that's my favourite rod for bass/pike and i have one of each spinning/baitcasting version. I haven't seen them go cheaper than $40 and IMO it's a decent rod for the money. Too bad they only had 5'6UL and a 6'0M left, i was looking for a 7'0MH.

Advices/Tips needed for Port Carling area near Lake Muskoka
Victor replied to Victor's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the quick response Jet. I have never caught a laker before but I will try to give that a shot. I hope that I will have something to report as well. -
Hey OFC, I'll be going up to a friend's cottage this weekend located at Port Carling. I believe it's between Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau. I will be towing my boat up (14' tinny) ... plan to target anything that swims and just hoping if someone can give me some tips on the hot baits around the area. I will try to stay in sheltered area as my boat isn't deep V and prefer not to travel too far from the cottage/onto the big lake. Thanks in advance! Victor

some nice fish, and you got'em with topwater too. Congrats on the PB Jaydub.

if you know what you're doing, and you are familiar with what different new/used packages/motors/boats are usually priced at, I don't see why not. There are many people out there who knows nothing about boat maintenance and doesn't make any effort to learn about it even if they do own a boat. They might sell their boat/motor etc and lower the price because of minor problems, who knows, maybe you just needed to change the plugs for it. Of course that's just my thoughts, never have any experience in doing that.
-
I can't answer about the battery question... but if you're paying for a new electric and possibly new battery, have you thought about getting a gas motor? I have seen quite a number of motors under $500 for 6-9hp. That would be perfect for your boat, while you can still use your Eudura 30 to navigate around the fishing holes without spooking the fish.
-
Nice fish. Can you share what kind of structures they were caught at and what was the weapon of choice? If it's a secret it's alright.
-
If anything I think it's because of those 2 minutes, you rarely hear that a fish dies because of a prolonged fight other than for muskies. If you planned on release the fish, it only takes 5 seconds to remove the hook, and another 10 seconds to take a picture. Even if you double that and it's still only 30 seconds :S
-
this has never happened to me... but as you said your rod has lifetime warranty, I'd take it to whoever made the rod and let them deal with it just to be on the safe side, unless someone else has a good alternative?
-
Those lures look awesome!! Definitely caught me even if it didn't catch any muskie lol! And I love that T-shirt too! Thanks for sharing with us.

maybe you can talk to Ryan (The Urban Fisherman), he used to own one and he totally pimped it up, I remember he had a trolling motor/camera stand and more. In fact I just went to his personal page and I think his personal pic has his ride in it.
