  1. I have a C3 6500, C4 6500 & 2 C3 7000 for rigger fishin. The 2 6500, I had to change to a bigger handle. Better retrieve under load. I take it the C5 is a narrower reel by the picture Roy posted. All I can say, nice reels,I wished my 7000 had a counter.
  2. You have to remember at trolling speed running all those electronics and accessories your motor will not keep your battery up. Running at low idle won't give you full charge. Trolling days in a row,and running all that stuff has put stress on that battery. You may have to put a good charge on it, at 2 amp NOT 10 amp. The magneto on your outboard is not like your alternator on your car. I run into the same thing Running 4 elect down riggers, VHF, depth finder, plus power trim, and starting. It's only a starting battery.
  3. Thanks camillj, I'll forward your thoughts. I think he mentioned that the mechanic said that was his next purchase.
  4. Gezz I think I'll Buy a Dakota. Not a chance. With all the great reports I've read. A friend of mine bought a new one, 2 mouths later wanted to sell it. Sucks gas big time. He can't find a buyer.
  5. Great report and pictures. Nice looking Ride. One of these days I'm going to take Chris on his offer.
  6. My stepson found me one in Burlington, there telescopic. Thanks guys
  7. Thanks for posting. Would be nice if there was a Trouble shooter site. A friend has a 25 Johnson 3 cylinder. The motor is a night mare . He has spent $1500.00 to fix it and still has the same problem . Motor runs great for a couple hours then has no power. The mechanic's are scratching there heads .
  8. Due to the forecasted high SW winds we are forced to cancel the tournament that was scheduled for tomorrow (Aug 9). There are many small boat anglers interested in participating. We are going to postpone the tournament until Sunday Aug 16th, 2009. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope this will save a few on gas driving down in the morning. Please pass the word on to those interested. We will see you on the 16th.
  9. Looks dam good to me, sauce even sounds good. Can't wait to see it served up. Trade you for a COORS Light for some on a bun
  10. Thats great news Harry, I'm heading there tomorrow. Doing some pre fishing for the Dofasco derby and the SLA Tour. May get a chance to get some Dollarama pictures if the rod and reel stays together . Man that outfit looks pretty fragile , Only has about 50ft' of line on the reel
  11. I'll be there Steve, and I'm bringing my Dollarama gear I finely found a rod.
  12. Yes that is an Atlantic 100% 9th picture, wish there were more out there. The young lady has a Rainbow.
  13. Thanks ChrisK, I'm in Hamilton. I hope I can find one in that area.
  14. Got some of my stuff, blew the budget $2.00 for the reel, but still looking for the rod. Any one know the Dollar store that has the Rod?
  15. Tried between Mohawk Island. and shore, nothing this time. Went strait out to deeper water, marked lots of fish near bottom in 65' all we could catch was Sheephead. Heard Steve(Fishmaster) on the radio catching. So we trolled west to 80'. By the time we got there Steve was leaving with all the fish He said they shut down. So we trolled the area till 6:00pm and left. We did manage 1 Walleye and a surprise, a nice Coho. The Coho hit a worm Harness on a Deep Driver, back 150', 2 1/2 setting, Speed 2.0.
  16. 1 more tip Cliff, as Lex mentioned the Shark Fin or a buddy of mine installed spring loaded trim tabs on his 14'. He told me that helped. I was shocked when I seen them. I didn't know they made them that small. Don't know were he bought them. I've heard him mention Hully Gully because he lives that way near London. Drifter beat me by a click. Thanks drifter, thats what I was talking about. I checked, Bridge Marine in Dover sells them.
  17. Cliff If your 60 is a 4 stroke, you'll find it won't have the bottom end as a 2 stroke 60hp. I have a 50 4 stroke on my small boat, each extra person I have in the boat, I have a problem getting up on plain. The 4 stroke doesn't have the RPM at bottom end as a 2. Dropping the pitch on your prop can cause you to over rev and blow your motor at top end. Be careful Cliff. I know it's to late now but you should have maxed out with the 75hp. I find the 4 strokes are gut-less coming out of the hole.
  18. FORD Is there any other REAL TRUCK!!! City and construction company's use Ford trucks because there TUFF. The only Real bad Ford problem I had was there extended Warranty. Some parts are not covered. Just happened with me: Air Bag Sensor: $94.00 for diagnostic, $80.00 part, $95.00 labor. Plus $100.00 deductible. Part is behind front grill, plug and play 5 min. job. Here's the kicker, I paid $2700.00 for the extended warranty 4 years or 80,000 km. To me. should be a safety issue. Toyota trucks nice they last if you don't load them up. A friend had one up north. Loaded it up with stove wood and bent the frame. Another friend a work had a small Toyota truck, he had it for years, couldn't kill it. I think it was a 4 cylinder.
  19. I can't wait to try the rod and reel in the down rigger Salmon fishing. I think safety glasses will be a must.
  20. Nice top. One thing, if it gets windy. Oneway trolling or sailing. Be nice drifting the Picton Triangle with the MR.Heater.
  21. Thats IT, No more Tim Hortons Coffee for me. The water they use comes from Lake Ont. the same water the fish swim in, and you want to drink it!!! Oh! I just thought of something, don't we Pee and Sh%&* in that same water. Give me a brake I think I'm having fresh Lake Erie Walleye for super.
