  2. 2K for a rear main seal....no wonder mechanic's drive Mercedes....last time I did one it cost under $20.... ....but I hear Tybo...
  3. Never had either but Lake Trout is nothing more then a char...but as someone else has already mentioned...it depends on where it was caught, what it was eating and how well it was cared for after the catch. BTW I have a great recipe for salmon for those who normally don't like salmon...if interested PM me. Bob
  4. I stopped doing them for several years but now I'm back at it....my Tundra Truck has a skid plate that needs to be removed, plus it takes 6.6 Qts of oil....so I use Walmart SuperTech fully synthetic oil (research revealed it's Mobil 1) which costs me about $26 plus $3.99 for the filter....so I get the job done right for $30 plus those damn NYS taxes... ....I then go over to the fire hall for FREE beer...It don't get no better then that... BTW when I was a youngen and had my first car I changed the oil in the street...or should I say I first flushed the oil pan out because I forgot to put the plug in.... ...it just a good thing I did it in the street because my dad would have KILLED ME.... ....also not a good idea to change oil on windy days.... Bob

  6. Limey, I really don't think they will move north....more like LA someday...Toronto hasn't really embraced the Bill's and I'm wondering if the game up there this year will even sell out.
  7. These G2G's need to go international....like in Buffalo, NY area....maybe a HUGE tailgate party before a Bill's game...
  8. Personally I wouldn't eat that bass....too old in a very bad environment as per what I have read here. But other fish from Ontario I have and still will eat....Red meat will get you way before a few salmon from Lake Ontario will. BTW I wouldn't eat ANY bass from anywhere...but that's just me...crappie, perch and walleye are in my freezer...learn to catch them and you wouldn't eat a bass either. Bob
  9. Big Red Sox fan....WHY....Because I HATE the YANKEES....go figure...LOL But it was a great day in baseball because it gave hope to all those small market teams/fans.....that's a good thing. But baseball has to speed up the game....especially when the Sox play the Yanks....brutally slow putting the ball in play. My pick who will win it all.....YANKEES.... :wallbash:
  10. You might get 100+ answers to that question but none might help you out. What I'm saying is....you might hit Lake X on the wrong weekend or fish the wrong areas or use a improper presentation for this time of year. But in generic terms I would try BIG GULL LAKE and try staying here... http://www.kirkkovecottages.com/ I am sure you will get MANY MANY more responses. Good Luck and please remember to report back on where and how you did. Bob
  11. Maybe next year we can corrupt more Canadians from here into this...
  12. Nice going Paul....the more there are of us anglers the better off we are....
  13. Yep, you opened up a big lead now....33 to 32... It wouldn't be long now and I will be going over the Big Cliff....
  14. So Ricky finally broke down and got the good stuff....last week he only had the golden shiners. I use a umbrella net that has larger holes which filter out the small minnows. Bob
  15. NICE....well done......did you purchase your bait or dip them yourself ? Can't find a bait dealer that sells the good stuff. Bob
  16. These waterfowl are bad bad birds and need to be punished and shot before sunset....
  17. We are not paid but for the last 10 years or so we can accumulate a pension payment once you reach 62 years old through our Service Awards Program. If you make your minimum 50 point requirement you will be credited $20 per month for that year...but you must be vested for 5 straight years. Getting 50 points is a complex system that includes fire calls, meeting, events, elected officers, etc...but if you do make your 50 points for say 10 years, then you would get $200 a month at the age of 62. The problem now a days being a volunteer fire fighter is that there is WAY too many training requirements...most folks don't have the time for it....that's why we are having recruiting and retaining fire fighters. Bob
  18. Not "BAD"....it's excellent....but my favorite Canuk...it's a looooooong season and I'm going to kick your Canadian ass. eh...LOL
  19. You and 80,000 other fans are also looking for that secret spot.....LOL Do you want to tailgate and party or just get in and out ? ? ?
  20. Yesterday (Monday) the 2 of us fished from 7:30am to 11:15am and got 62 Jumbo perch and 1 under sized walleye in the Lake above Niagara Falls.... Anchored once in 50 feet of water where we got them last Saturday and never moved... The perch bite is on in my secret lake that's between Point Abino and Sturgeon Point....don't want to upset anyone by naming the Lake but it's a Great Lake to fish... ...so if you can read between the lines, hook up you boat and load of the freezer for a long cold winter ahead. Good Luck, Bob BTW ALL bites were VERY light hang bites.......
  21. They will be coming into Bills Country....good luck with the broken right wing...
  22. Misfish....Always....I mean ALWAYS bet with you head not your heart...I did that today and lost....I can accept that... BTW it's a FREE pool and I even corrupted Big Cliff into playing....worst case I will lose a total of $20 but can win a trip to Vegas and about 2K....but as you can see I'm not that good or lucky... Bob
  23. YEP....found that out the hard way....
  24. THANKS Gentlemen...and I use that term very loosely...LOL... Tomorrow is Fried Green Tomatoes using a couple different recipes listed here...
