Beware of the 3 bridge crossing into the WNY
Billy Bob replied to Billy Bob's topic in General Discussion
I just got expensive gasoline near the Buffalo Airport and the gas station was FILLED with cars from Ontario and even one from NS...talked to the family from NS and they said gasoline was like $1 or more per gallon cheaper here and it was a Mobil Station with one of the highest prices in town. -

Question for the Generator/electrical buffs
Billy Bob replied to Cookslav's topic in General Discussion
The Honda is definitely expensive and may be over priced. I have a Sears 5600/6500 watt unit as a back up for my whole house....never tried to run the central A/C unit off of it though....BUT it's as NOISY as HSBC Center when the Sabres beat the Maple Leafs again....sorry couldn't resist... Bob -

Question for the Generator/electrical buffs
Billy Bob replied to Cookslav's topic in General Discussion
I can't answer all you questions as I am not qualified but I can answer a couple on experience as I had a trailer that had both battery powered and 110 volt lights, furnace fan and water pump... First a 2000 watt generator will NEVER run a A/C unit...second if you want a small 2000 watt generator get a HONDA as they are the quietest available and that is a HUGE thing when camping in the wild. A good battery and a smart on-board charger is a must and it sounds like that is what you already have....we did a out west trip (6,500 miles in 30 days) and never had a battery problem but would stay at a electric site every other stop to top off the battery and I had a trickle charger from my tow vehicle also. Water was a much more of a concern for us as we were near our gross trailer/tow vehicle weight limit...really learned the importance of water conservation on that trip and we still imply it today. Good Luck, Bob -
Here we go again..... HAPPY NEW YEAR, Toyota Billy

I have it on good info that Peyton Manning drives a Toyota Tundra.... (actually I just made that up) Toyota Bob...

I'll bet a dozen nightcrawlers if the Colts play the Chiefs, at the end of the day the Chiefs will be on the outside looking in...

I like Sarah as she down to earth.

I have this one on my boat batteries and it got the starter battery to last 9 years and was still going this year when I decided to not push my luck.... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/AutoBoat-Batteries-Chargers/On-Board-Chargers-Inverters%7C/pc/104794380/c/104698080/sc/104465880/Cabelas-Advanced-Anglers-ProSport-II-On-Board-Marine-Battery-Chargers/734150.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/boating-auto-boat-batteries-chargers-on-board-chargers-inverters/_/N-1100565/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104465880 It's plugged in at ALL times when the boat is not fishing or being towed. HAPPY NEW YEAR Bob

ice fishing without a fishfiner/flasher ?
Billy Bob replied to newboykool's topic in General Discussion
You can get GREAT deals on fish finders (flashers and graphs) on EBAY....I purchased several over the years and they all worked fine. Bob -
We in NYS have legal bass fishing for catch and release during the out of season time and it works....we have some GREAT bass fishing on inland lakes and especially LAKE ERIE where there is a trophy season that starts May 1st every year and the bass fishing has only gotten better. Now about fishing/hunting shows.....almost all are now just entertainment wrapped around info-commercials IMHO. The days of In-Fisherman (which were packed full of info) of the late 80's early 90's are long gone. I still have many taped here somewhere. It's all about MONEY now. HAPPY NEW YEAR Bob

The Chiefs would be a GREAT surprise and I would love to see it but I highly doubt it....probably the arrogant Patriots.

Then it owes you nothing and maybe you should be looking for another one.

This is a common thing with GM and Deathcool (Dex-Cool)... http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/08/gm_dexcool.html I had a 2002 Ford Escape and towed a 3K trailer 6,500 miles out west and back without problems but I did have trailer brakes and a additional tranny cooler on the Escape. Went over the continental divide twice at a top speed of 22 mph but made it. The Ford Escape would be my choice in the small SUV's to choose from unless you can afford a Toyota RAV4 with a V-6. Good Luck, Bob

For fishing outboards are the best choice......less headaches and more time for fishing especially if you like COLD soft water fishing as a outboard is self draining at the boat ramp.

Don't bother with the box tackle stores...go to Rainbow Sports in North Tonawanda..Store is MUCH larger than it looks from the outside because it goes way back to the next block....they have everything and anything including OLD stuff you can't get elsewhere.

Already sitting at my son's place waiting for the Capt to come home from work...wife forgot his key but my son called the building manager and arrange for the key to be waiting in the office for us when we arrived.... Gasoline prices much better here...$2.95 per gallon compared to $3.23 per US gallon at home when we left....but weather not much different here...34 degrees and about 2 inches of snow compared to our 4 feet.

Merc and I get along pretty well....but come man....this is a JOKE with the poodle (but it's the right breed for this)...LOL.....the whole friggin world is waytoo PC with being offended...I like to rattle the cage and get a rise from guys and many know what I'm doing but even more are "offended" by it....take off your skirts and put on a pair a pants...MEN'S pants, not the ladies kind and sit back with a cold beer while laughing at someone else or YOURSELF sometimes....I know I don't have all that much time left on this earth but the time I have left I will enjoy.....BTW even though I like to tease unmercyfully I ALWAYS believe in helping others when in need or anytime asked. It's Friggin BOB....LOL

What's your favorite steak cut?? And doneness?
Billy Bob replied to Burtess's topic in General Discussion
Porterhouse Porterhouse Porterhouse....oh did I mention PORTERHOUSE done medium rare over hickory wood......but FIRST I must season it with a GENEROUS amounts of Kosher Salt, Garlic Powder and fresh ground Black Pepper on BOTH sides....then let it sit 2-3 hours so that beautiful piece of meat comes to room temperature. Sear on one side for 3 minutes and turn ONLY ONCE for another 3 minutes....now get it off that grill and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before cutting into it so the juices don't run out. Now were taking red meat....... :good: Hungry Bob, not Billy -
I have a Abu Garcia spinning reel that light line 4/6# test would get pinched between the bail roller and it's saddle...got tired of it as it would break the line sometimes...called Abu Garcia and they said send it to them at Spirit Lake, IA...(this is a center for a lot of different manufactures). They sent me back a brand new reel and I didn't even have a receipt but it was still in the 1 year warranty.
