VERY TRUE......but the pump I have is a BRASS constructed pump and you can't get them anymore......I called Wayne Pumps and the closest I can get is a cast iron one....That's why I'm sticking with the one that came with the house 29 years ago.....many now are only friggin plastic....not good IMHO. If I could get the exact pump I would have installed it this summer......but with the water driven sump pump I am covered on both ends...pump fails, I'm covered...power outage, I'm covered...

I have the same "stand up" sump pump the since I moved in here 29 years ago....personally I find them more reliable but each to his own...and this pump is quite active...I don't like electrical things submerged if I can avoid it. I did put in a back up "water driven" sump pump this year just in case this 29 year old beast dies when I'm home or not home. BTW...years ago I did have to replace the switch on the pump not because it wouldn't turn on but rather it wouldn't turn off....maybe, just maybe this is your problem.....if so it's a EASY fix to replace the switch....take it off (unplug first) and take it down to a plumbing store...they can match it up real quick.....most pumps use the same type switch. Hell......it don't get no better than that...... ...my season has been a disaster so far.

I surprised no one has mention Toro snow blowers.......I have had my Toro 724 since 1981....better know as "Big Red".....she handles everything mother nature has throw at us and more....I did have to replace a impeller shaft bearing about 4-5 years ago....but that only cost me $12.00 plus tax....so $25...LOL I helped a buddy purchase a Yard Machine a few years ago from Sam's Club...I thought they looked cheap....don't know if has given him any problems. BTW my maintenance on lawn mowers and snow blowers is...check the oil level, fill with gas and let her rip.....never changed oil on any of these machines...you would think they would self destruct but I guess I'm lucky...if it ain't broken I don't mess with them, unlike my truck or boat. Let snow, let it snow...(I must be letting the weather get to me) Bob

YES, same thing.....I have always wanted to shoot that one in PA that always says we are in for 6 more weeks of winter. Out west they have prairie dogs which are a much small target and there are MANY more of them....either way land owners always welcome you to shoot them as they do a lot of damage to their property...then come deer season the poster signs go up...oh well, it's their property and I respect that.

Woodchucks do that when you whistle and just before I turn them inside out with one shot from my .22-250 Rem.... As I said cats make a great substitute when the woodchucks are in a down cycle...

REAL men use cables not chains....ever seen a chain break under stress....just like a bullet flying who knows where.... I have seen 3/4 inch chains break and even 1.25" cables break...but a cable gives you a warning.

I have to disagree.....never seen a cat retrieve a duck, pheasant or anything else for that matter. Dogs are used to rescue people and help aid the blind...dogs are used to patrol the peremittor of a fence in area...dogs are also used to sniff out drugs and work hand and hand with our military and police forces around the world....never see a cat do any of that.....
