As already mentioned most batteries are a like with only the price being the big difference (assuming size to size and spec to spec)....If you intend on doing a lot of traveling with the boat then get a battery that is available throughout your fishing range in case it fails under warranty. Also always keep the battery receipt with the boat. Bob

I don't know where you reside but Optima batteries are VERY expensive even down here at Sam's Club....PLUS you need a special charger to properly maintain them. They run about $150 to $180 compared to $69 for standard batteries (Sam's Club)...some guys swear by them, others swear at them because they claim no better then a standard battery at twice the price. Stag & Doe Etiqutte.....totally non fishing...as 100% NF

You think it's tacky for the parents paying for the wedding as their wedding gift to the children... All the wedding I went to all the guest brought envelopes with a wedding card which enclosed more money then was spent on them at the wedding... And yes I have been married for almost as long as you are old....my son will be getting married in July and yes I will be paying for the booze...... .....and no there is no stag & doe party planned or any other fund raising scheme before the wedding... This must be a Canadian thing.......when I first read the title I thought the thread was going to be about hunting.... -

And what's wrong with the 1950's......I just remember reading in this forum how bad things are getting lately and if we are going to make it.....I would trade the 2000's for the 1950's in a heart beat.... -
You're probably right but definitely worth a try.....

You can have ordinary keys made from your original then just tape the original chipped key underneath the dash close to the ignition (this will override the security system) and you're good to go if you want to save a few bucks.

Then they can raffle it off..... -
If you mean getting a ride out to a heated hut...then yes that's easier but 99% of my ice fishing when I was younger was me pulling a light plastic sled with my hand auger and buckets in tow. Sometimes walking close to 2 miles out and enduring the cold.

When you're young ice fishing is a snap....hopefully as you age you wouldn't suffer from ailments that prevent ice fishing from being a pleasant experience.

I never heard of a stag and doe party here....so I am guessing it's a fun raiser to pay for the wedding ... ..if so VERY TACKY IMHO ! Here the "tradition" is the women hold a bridle shower for the lady who's getting married and she recieves household gifts, like a toaster, blender, etc.... and the guys throw a stag party to get the groom drunk and it's usually includes a stripper...it's a last hurra for the groom and this stag party is planned by the best man....tickets are sold to pay for all the expenses involved in the party, not a money maker for the groom. A lot of pressure on the best man to out do any other stag party you may have attended. The wedding traditionally is paid for by the brides parents, HOWEVER the grooms parents pay for ALL the booze consumed at the reception. Most people give a wedding card full of cash to get the lucky newly weds started off. But traditions have been flushed down the toilet in recent years....you see it OK for them to offend you, but don't you dare offend them... Bottom line I was ALWAYS taught the wedding is the BRIDE'S DAY and what she wants goes. The groom and the rest of you are just along for the ride. -
Nice big lakers and a heap of whitefish today

I would be glad to pay you Tuesday for a whitefish today.....put 2 stamps on the tail and send it to me....meanwhile I'll get the smoker going... -
I wish you the best and hope you follow through with you dream of becoming a hunter. Our ranks have dwindled over the years and we need as many new comers as possible to keep this tradition alive and well. From what I see you have a few hoops to jump through but don't let that discourage you. In NYS new comers also have to take a hunting safety course but it's free and available all through the state and we don't have a PAL requirement for shotguns or rifles so it's easier to get started. As Cliff and others here suggested more info on where you intend to hunt will dictate the best gun for you....Rifles are almost always your best choice if they are allowed in your hunting area....a good used one with quality optics is a great start....also a .22 rim fire is the best way to learn how to shoot because of no recoil and CHEAP ammo. Once you have everything you need to hunt with the best advice I could give you is KNOW HOW TO SHOOT YOUR GUN....practice as much as possible before the season and know YOUR limitations using that gun. You will only get ONE shot at a standing whitetail before you only see a white(tail) waving good bye...all other shots after the first one is to maybe anchor the deer after it gets back up...if you can't hit the animal while it's standing still you surely aren't going to hit it when it's running. BTW.....the meat is fantastic and can't be bought. Bob

The funny looking thing that has a curly wire is call the mic...push the button on the mic and talk into it....when done talking release the button and listen...don't talk when you hear someone else talking.....that will be $69.95 or $75.00 in US dollars........Please tell a friend about us....
