Someone here tipped me off to Reeds about 2-3 years ago and I got a nice deal on my second LMS 520C unit so I thought I would repay the favor...their having a 3 day sale on Lowrance HDS units.....don't know how the prices match up in Ontario or even if they will ship up there but I thought it wouldn't hurt to post this. http://www.reedssports.com/Category/main.taf?cat=14 Bob

Purchasing a firearm in US and bringing back to Canada
Billy Bob replied to Rattletrap2's topic in General Discussion
Quote The US passed new legislation in February 2003 which makes it illegal for a ‘non-resident alien’ to come into possession of a firearm in the US. This does not apply to antiques or muzzle-loading firearms, nor does it apply to Canadians with legal residency in the US or to US citizens, regardless of their residency. A Canadian may purchase a firearm in the US but cannot take possession of it, nor can they export it from the US. I don't know what the laws are pertaining to a Canadian purchasing a legal firearm in the USA.....but I have read this quote several times and to me at least it doesn't make any sense as far as the last sentence... Why would anyone (Canadian) purchase a firearm that they cannot take possession of or export it from the USA (to Canada)... Where did this quote come from ? ? ? -
OK......PM me the exact location and I will give it a first hand inspection and evaluation.....and while I'm all the way up there do you have any lakes with a similar walleye problem....might as well check them out as well.....the only cost will be some Labatts Blue Light Beer....only because you're a member here. Actually 8 mpg ain't too bad towing a beast like that..
-
Skeeter, looking at that beast I would bet you need to get the hubs more then wet....and you have a lot of balls towing that home with a mini van...
-
I would love to demonstrate my easy method....it's been a proven one for my boat and trailer for the last 26 years...trust me it real easy...just stop the trailer when the hubs are just above the water and shove off the boat....repeat method for retrieving....it takes me about 1 minute or less to launch and maybe 3-4 minutes to retrieve by myself. I have watch the clowns at the boat ramp for YEARS dunking their trailers in so far that they need waders....the exhaust of the tow vehicle is under water, when they pull the boat out of the water it's sitting crooked on the trailer and have to do it again and again, etc....I have never needed boats to launch or retrieve my boat even without a dock.

For 22 years I only had a 28# thrust on my 16' boat and just recently went to a 40# thrust (12 volt).....on the real windy days the OP has his 9hp kicker motor to rely on....from everything I have read by the OP this is not going to be a full time bass catching machine....if so you are absolutely correct....but many of us don't fish bass seriously...as a full time walleye fishermen (after the crappie season and between the perch) I personally don't find the need for all that expensive TM power and weight, but then again everyone is different. Bob

I would agree.......BUT I have a feeling the OP is more interested in occasional use of a electric trolling motor than have his foot on it all day like a tournament bass fishermen......so I would recommend a 40-50 pound thrust via a 12 volt system (group 27 battery).....I have a similar set up and it works great without ever running low on battery power....but I do have a good on-board charging system that I plug into every time the boat is not fishing.
