Presentation on the Algonquin Land Claim
knightfisher replied to Rod Caster's topic in General Discussion
Sad state of affairs for sure. If we lived in a 'true' democracy then things could be change for the better. -
Warning... not for the weak stomache - how to remove fish hook
knightfisher replied to Ron's topic in General Discussion
This guy is nuts. With all the videos on Utube of actual real life hook removals while on the water, why would anyone do something so crazy. Takes all kinds I guess. Be good at a bar for a few free drinks I guess. -
Good job by the leafs to get two more points. Leafs don't need a goalie. Defence needs help. Can't be allowing so many shots per game. Also need a new captain. Nice to see the Jets win as well.
-
Leafs will get at least three of four points in the last two games. Nuff said. Go leafs....
-
I don't like the SO. A hot goalie or shooter does not make a team effort. Both teams should be given a single point. The leafs really need this win tonight. Lots of pressure on them. I except them to be on fire tonight.
-
Leafs hung in there and earned a well deserved point. Leafs can't expect their goalies to be abused each night with so many shots against them and win.. The defence is the problem. Phaneuf is a huge problem on defence. Yes he got a few assists, but his defencive play is horrible. All the sports shows I listen to say the same thing about Phaneuf. Give him half the ice time and develope some of their other talent. As the coach said last night after the game, the defence needs to be alot better.

Leafs still very much a work in progress. Senators did well, with many of their players out. Good to see the Habs win. Hope all three make the playoffs.

Blatant attack on our fishing rights
knightfisher replied to knightfisher's topic in General Discussion
The website is --niagarafishing.net-- google will get you there. Agreed Billy, we have to take every threat seriously. Pictures can be seen on the site and again the thread Blatant attack on our fishing rights. Thanks to all who came over for a visit. Dan -
Hi all, I've been a member of this site for many years. I always keep up to date on what's happening on the forum, and enjoy reading the catches members here report on. I post on occaison and this is one of those times. I'm not sure if I am allowed to post another fishing site here, guess I will find out. I'm also member of niagarafishing.net. In St.Catharines we are having a situation where the rowing club has tried to stop the public from launching or fishing on this public parcel of land which part of is rented by the rowing club off the city. Henley island in St. Catharines is considered a park with regards to city hall records. As such the public can enter and enjoy the area. The rowing club feels they own the whole island, and what they did was put huge boulders at the only two access points for launching canoes, kayaks and small tinnies. On this web site above I have posted a thread called "Blantant attack on our fishing rights" I invite the members here to view the thread and if possible join up and post your opinions. As you read the post you will see the pictures I posted and the over 1000 views -which is good for our site- and over 50 replies. This thread has to do with our fishing rights as well as launching rights being taken away. This affects every one. Peoples voices need to be heard. Toronto water front was a situation recently where the public and their involvement ensured anglers would be able to fish there. This is the same thing. Again I'm asking for the members here to go to this other site, read the thread and if possible make a comment. Mods---I don't know if I broke any rules posting another web site here. But this is a very important situation as not to lose another fishing spot. It affects us all. Thank you Dan Burke

Was a productive night for sure. We all went home with a good number. Fried up a batch while cleaning them today. We're going out again this weekend Bruce if you want to join us again.

The smelt run has started in the lower. As well as millions of minnows. Also Queenston launch is a zoo starting about 4pm till well after midnight. Just in case you may be launching there, cars are backed up to the top parking lot. Dan

Thanks for the replies. Took the prop off no line or weeds. I do check for that a few times a year. May try a new prop. Dan

I've had this endura for about five years and it has served me well. Notice I don't get the power I use to. Changed batteries and still not preforming like it use to. I was just wondering if anyone knows what the life of these motors are, or if there is something I can do to improve the preformance. Thanks, Dan

Great report and great fish. -
Odds alone dictate that Boston will not lose four in a row in Vancouver. Not to mention they were in every game there. Boston without a doubt wins the cup.

Man fined $50,000 for importing Asian carp

If he was that brazen to continue to bring the fish over, could one extrapolate that some of these fish made it to a few local ponds..... -
Very satisfied with this charger for my deep cycle batteries. I also use it on my 7.5amp 12v gel cell I use for my fish finder. I will use my 10amp charger however if I have deeply drained my battery and need it for the next day.

Am I Going to be OK?; Are you Going to be OK?
knightfisher replied to Entropy's topic in General Discussion
While I agree getting a career as opposed to just a job makes sense, there are not enough jobs out there for the thousands of ''yearly'' graduates who have that piece of paper. Also, not everyone is capable of getting a career. Just don't have ability required. Not everyone is smart enough to be (..........) There are very few other jobs for the ones who can't find career type jobs. Whats happening around the world as far as protests go, will come here. It's already happening to a degree in the States. However with what we experienced with the G-20 a while back, will people be allowed to speak their mind and protest. Back to the original topic....my place has a self contained lower unit with it's own hydro meter. If times get tough, I can rent out that unit, that we currently use. However I don't relish giving up my privacy, which happens when you have tenants.
