  1. Well....thanks alot for this information, very informative everyone. I will give my manual a review again, but I definately seen 1000lb towing capacity, but I now know there are some other things I must consider. I tremor the thought of towing even a small trailer...and with the ac on, hmm, might just have to wait for my next vehicle? Thanks again. btw, I have a 2003 Ford Focus Wagon ZTW (not sure how much it differs from the other trims?)
  2. Thinking about purchasing a boat in the next year or 2. I want something small anyways, not that I have a choice, but will be looking for something around 14' and a deep V. Since my car's towing capacity is only a 1000lbs, Ford Focus Wagon, what kind of weight can I expect with a 14' boat, 15 to 20hp motor and a trailer? And at what point should I consider getting a tranny cooler? Any help would be appreciated.
  3. He was smashed from what I read, and probably passed out. That is the only scenario I see. I was quite shocked when I heard the news, he was an exciting fighter and still pretty young.
  4. Finally Glen, a wall report. Nice going on catchin some real beauties.
  5. As long as the belly colour is either black, white, or chartruese, it'll work. Top end colour is just for us fisherman to look at and say that's pertty.
  6. I'm a Raptor's fan, but I don't think they'll do all that great again this year. Heard they are looking into signin Jarod Jack, solid backup at point, and Klieza, he's pretty good too at the 3 or 4. Thankfully they are in a weak conference, so they may just make the playoffs. Biggest I see with this team is they are soft, and no real post players. Both Bosh and Andrea are face to the basket players with little post game. But am glad they signed Hedo! I was imaging him being a Raptor during the playoffs, and here he is. Just a matter if he can be consistent with his new fat contract.
  7. Really sorry to hear that Wayne. My condolences to you and your family.
  8. I wonder if Spiel will reply to this? Hahaha
  9. Nice fish Steve, I see that wally diver in the one pic, is that the one with a light purple hue to it? If so, do you carry that in your store? It's a very good colour at BOQ as well and hard to find.
  10. My ol man from time to time uses them in chowder, he likes it.
  11. Everything what KelfuN mentioned is bang on. That is the key, legwork. And York is a great place to start, but watch out for some deep spots, they can come on you in a hurry, probably best to just go in with some old shorts and shoes. Seen lots of guys do that, plus if you go too deep, you'll be fine.
  12. I've never waded there, but there are spots you can get across, just not sure about in front of the dam. Fishing can be pretty good there at times, but is fished frequently at the dam. Theres some good stretches down river, then gets really shallow, but you got a good walk before you hit the shallows. I've caught smallies, pike, rockies and mooneyes there. It's definately worth a try though, let us know how you did and good luck.
  13. Man, those are some huge crappie! Nice going. I had no idea Crappie were that far north.
  14. I've used both, including the new Fireline Braid. I like PP but I did experience issues casting PP with my spinning reel, wind knots....even when there was no wind, but I do use it trolling quite abit. Found the regular fireline a little noisy going through the guides, and a little stiff, but still a pretty good line. I was however extremely impressed with the new Fireline Braid. Smoothest line I have ever used and casts great so far. I would check it out.
  15. Nice job, it's nice to be able to access something local like that. Btw, that's an interesting looking spinning reel, what kind is it, Mitchell?
  16. Hahaha, thats funny, too bad it was slow for ya. Thanks for info guys, much appreciated.
  17. Was wondering if anybody has hit Port Maitland Pier recently? Or know if they are catching any Perch off of it now?
  18. Being a baseball fan myself, most importantly a Jays one, and naturally a fishing fan, this is awesome! Best of luck on raising $$$,$$$ for a great cause!
  19. Nice going Rich.........and man, you are back........with a vegeance, I can see it in your eyes. Good stuff man.
  20. WOW, that is one sweet boat Joey, I mean really sweet. Congrats on getting it, now I hope you two put it to some good use, lots of use. BTW, is that Paul with his hair cut?
  21. Are you fixed on St. Croix? I found that the 7'-6" Shimano Crucial had a way better feel to it, but that's just me. I actually settled for the 7'-2" Crucial, it's awesome. It's a tough size to find though, usually stores will only carry a couple that size. Quantum also carries that size if you are interested, a Tour PT at Grimsby Tackle, maybe FW too. Think I seen a Cumara that size too, which is a ridiculously awesome rod. Good luck
  22. Too bad about the size and #'s of fish, regardless of that, it looked like a real fun time. That is something I've always wanted to do and think I'll plan something like that with my son in the near future, i know he would love it, and no doubt I.
  23. The good thing about Rice, pretty much all shorelines contain all sorts of fish. It's a panfish factory there for sure. If you can, just stay to the shore from where the wind is coming from, will cut down alot of the wind for ya's. Good luck.
  24. If you plan on fishing their, definately don't rent a boat from Bewdley, like Stoty said, it'll take you 2 hours to get there and by the time you get back, you'll have an empty tank. Also check out alot of the coves by their on the north shore, just anchor and you'll catch virtually every variety of fish in that lake in one place. Let us know how ya do, I'm heading up there in July and possibly a weekend in May.
  25. I had the same problem, except when I was trolling for walleye. After the time I lost 3 husky jerks in 45 minutes, I started using 20lb seaguar flouro. I know most guys wouldn't use that low, but so far so good. No bite offs in 3 years and the pike I did land, each one just inhaled the HJ and line held up. So I'm not sure what lb of flouro you were using, you can try the 20lb and see.
