Who Left Good Jobs To Start Own Business?(NF)
The Urban Fisherman replied to express168's topic in General Discussion
well I'm only 25 but i'm going through the same thing right now....my answer was to KEEP my full time job for now, and start my company as a part time gig. Now i'm doing so much work on the side it's hard to keep up, but it might not always be this way, so for now I'm keeping both....if my side work dies down, I still have my full time job to back me up. BUT if in 6 months to a year from now the workload increases and my company seems to have staying power, I might just take the leap. If I wasn't only 1 year out of school with a three month old daughter, a gilfriend in university and a HEAVY student loan, I'd have dropped my full time job weeks ago! hehehe Good Luck and keep us posted! UF -
Thanks fishergirl, i'm actually working on a fishing show so it's even that much more fun! Makes it hard to go to my main job now! haha cheers!

Sup ya'll, I haven't been around here much lately, and haven't pm'd many of you guys whom I consider to be friends. The reason being is that I took on a large editing project (on top of my full time job) that's going to keep be busy for a long time. I just wanted to say that OFC rules, and that I still pop in whenever I have a free moment. Keep on posting and Good Fishin' all! UF

Hey Dude! I've fished that lake pretty well more than any other.....fantastic walleye (drag a leech around on a worm harness with a slip sinker...try around some islands and just let the wind push you) some great bass opportunities (try to find a weed edge that drops into like 20f FOW and you should find some biggies..... tons of pike, and the only muskie I've ever seen came out of there! If none of those guys are hungry you can catch pan fish t'il you're sick of taking them off your hook! Took me 19 years to figure out that lake, now I've gotta figure out Lake "O"...jeeeeezzzzz Good Luck! UF

The Urban Fisherman replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
wow! Good idea on the record keeping! I didn't catch enough fish in '06 to have to write it down! haha Gook Luck in '07! UF -
So I hit the credit this morning, didn't get out as early as I had hoped but I was on the water by 8 a.m. and the fishing was on fire!!! It was my second time pretending to be a steelheader and I went 0 for 4! 3 of them were little guys, maybe 8 to 12 inches but the big guy was a solid 5 or 6 lbs! right after I missed the big one, the dude next to me landed a nice one in the 5 to 6 lb range.... everybody that I spoke to was hooking fish...apparently I have to learn how to set a hook but it's better than nothing! I'll land one yet!!! Good Fishin guys! UF

Good rule Rich! Also, some people act much different on the internet. The quietest, shyest person in the world might be the biggest "smack talker" on OFC! haha uf -

Over Spending On Fishing?
The Urban Fisherman replied to urbanangler1990's topic in General Discussion
dude it never ends, I just give the GF the old "hey, I could be wasting my money on booze, cigarettes or who knows what else, but I barely drink, never go out and quit smoking various other substances when we moved in together, so if I want to spend money on the only thing I have left i'm damn well going to spend money on fishing gear" hehehe in short, as long as you can afford it, I say go out and buy the gear you want... there's worse addictions out there.... uf -
