well got out there one more time (this past Tuesday) and we had to work for it. One for one...38.5 inches. Normally I wouldn't measure fish that size but it was the first for a friend of mine so we had to get an accurate measurement. It certainly made his day! Water temps were 42-43 degrees

ya we were hesitant to go there. Our last fall trip to Pigeon we were 0 for 1 in 2.5 days of fishing....then we remembered that can happen anywhere and decided to go for it anyways!

nice pike! And no offence to pike...but man am I disappointed when the rod goes off and I bring in a pike. Then again, I have never caught a 42 inch pike...maybe I would be ok with that!

keep at it! Don't get discouraged. As the water gets below 50 (which it is) the bite can be pretty tough. Pigeon is a great lake but when it comes to musky, being skunked is always something that can happen, even on a great lake.

yipes...when I saw that many boats in the frame I figured it was a weekend!

nopers...all were in the 35-37 inch range. The one we lost at boatside...waiting for the net to show up...was about 40. It was hooked with only 8 feet of line out so our net man wasn't ready when we had the fish at boatside. Still had to complete his retrieve etc...pretty sure he wanted me to lose it

we just got back from Pigeon, fished Friday and Saturday. We caught 4 for the two days and lost one more. Water temps Friday morning were 43.5 but were up to 47 by the time we left there this afternoon.

yes... a skunking on L St. C does hurt a lot more than a skunking closer to home! And if you only have a partial day available rather than a marathon, this also pushes me towards upper n

for me...upper niagara is 3 hours driving round trip, and St Clair is 6 hours driving round trip. St. Clair is where I go! Used to fish Upper Niagara 15 years ago but found the fish per hour fishing ratio waaay better on St C even when you factor in the drive!

well that is one warm day out of the way. We fish Friday and Saturday this week. If today sucked, and tomorrow does too, the fish should be ready to go by Friday!

lots of positive attitudes...love it. Will fish deep water....figure those fish less affected by what is going on above the water

If there is any weather pattern that has ever spelled doom for me, it is a warming trend in late fall. Of course I have a 2 day trip booked to Pigeon for later this week ..right in the middle of a warming trend. Over the years I recall many a gorgeous late fall day on the water...and what I also recall is the fishing sucked. I would love to hear any success stories under these conditions if you have them...and would really love to hear what worked. If you also just feel the need to tell me, "yes...you are doomed" that is fine too.

I have occasionally camped in some rough spots overnight, so what I have done is tie boat to something on the shore, let it float out a bit...like a couple feet, then drop an anchor off the back to hold boat in place. If it is just for launching, then yes, I carefully pull it up onto the shore.

awesome pictures. I was thinking oh wow this guy fishes for every species when i saw all the variety in the first photos, then it was bass, bass, bass, more bass, bass, bass, even more bass followed by some bass....I think I figured out your preference.
