  1. Alright didn't want to clutter the board so I figured that I'd put 'em all in one post. First off saugeen smallies, my dad and I tried it out yesterday and after a long day of looking for suitable pools we finally found a honey hole. here are a few of the beasts we landed. Today me and redpearl hit up a local lake in the canoe and we ended up getting 5 of these guys and losing many others. And finally the question, we will be heading to algonquin on booth lake for 3 days starting thursday, trout and bass will be the targets and I was wondering what techniques you guys use for that area in the hot summer. Thanks, Tight lines!
  2. Stocking up on camping gear tomorrow, great offer!
  3. Most of the time I'm like you, I just like being alone when I'm fishing. However occasionally you'll come across some experienced fishermen and most of those guys are great! If you want peace next time report and have the mnr haul them away.
  4. You can't use flies that are too big, max size 8 hooks, my favourites are small beadhead nymphs and a fly I made up which is a size 10 hook with white sheepshair on the back and a little bit of red fox hair underneath. But honestly if you put it in front of their faces they will eat it. cast about a foot away from them, let it sink about 6 inches and strip it back letting it fall in between, when they suck it up don't set the hook right away but instead watch your leader and wait for it to move before setting it.
  5. That was great! thanks Pike slayer!
  6. The event's at long point? If so, my dad and I will be there this sunday, probably in a rental.
  7. Yupp, that's me. I'll try to keep it organized but I'm running out of room, need some more boxes... Just curious, what do people do with cut line?
  8. Thanks for that. Mostly because I have that heddon torpedo, never got anything on it, now I'm excited!
  9. Oh also if you happen to see any trout really shallow a few small husky jerks can be a good friend.
  10. For younger kids braid may not be the best choice, mostly for knots, if they tie them they will most likely slip, I'd go with 8lb mono.
  11. You just can't shut up for one second can you! Oh, and nice fish.
  12. Definitely pressured, but still has some fish in it. Maybe if those idiots on puslinch opened it up the pressure would lower.
  13. I've never had them work, no clue why they melted (have had it happen with spinnerbait skirts).
  14. QEW- 401-400 or QEW-427-401-400 first option would be your best bet.
  15. Welcome baracuda! panther martins, trout worms, mepps, and spoons should work. Good luck!
  16. Did I forget to include the specific specie, sorry.
