well same here was thinking about buck lake as well,i was told the smaller lakes were good,but the big ones are not safe,they had too much snow & rain,still open water in some lakes be careful !!!!!

Yes i have used it for ice fishing and it works awesome,use it on that screen,if you read your manual it tells you to use it when you are stationary and it will work just as good or better than a flasher !!!!

Well i havnt heard any reports from that way yet,other than alot of the bigger lakes still have unsafe ice ,and some still have open water !!! maybe the bays ,and sheltered areas may be safe,we mwill have to wait for the reports to come in from that way,as i want to know around the huntsville area too !!!!!!

Yes its useful,and if you are just drifting ,or sitting at anchor that ping speed can work even better than a flasher,its very versitile for sure !!!!you will have to experiment with it,i usually have mine set at about 75%..and you can really see the nice hooks when you get that all set and where you want it,along with a few other options,of the unit,as you kinow you only get what you pay for right !!!!

hey roy it should have it check in the menu,and settings im sure it will be there,and yours will have it too lew !!!!!

Well roy i hear you !!! but on the newer units you can adjust the ping speed,and that sends out the sonar at whichever speed you want,thats an even better way,travelling at 30mph,on lake ontario in 300ft of water i saty in constant reading with the bottom all i do is up the ping speed !!!!see if yours has it i will say for sure that it does lew& roy as well

Thanks for the info guys,well we went out today for a few bargains and even went to wal-mart. ..and it waqsnt bad at all, but as for driving from oshawa to bass pro,ill wait another day or 2 before i go,im not willing to stand in that crowed like i did last year on boxing day at bass pro,it was insane !!!!!and it wasnt worth it so im glad to know the sale is on for a few days thanks....cheers

hey doug the flat part at the front goes on the line,then bring it under to the part where the knob is bring it up through there loop on the top and bring it back down through the part with the knob....its hard to say over the puter man but it really is easy,it takes about 10seconds....do you live nearby me im in oshawa???..LOL..LOL..LOL

Hey doug those releases are great ,thery are the best stackers too !!! its hard to tell you over the puter,but there should be a diagram on the back of the package,i have 3 of them,at the bottom of the release you have to loop it around to where the little knob is,then loop it up top straight aboue and back down through,you can slide them up and down using that little stainless,metal tab,you can also adjust the tension too,with the dial at the bortom,they are the best!!!!

Well you should check in with sam,for sure...the bay of quinte is a very big body of water ,and the ice can vary greatly !!! from area to area,...so you should maybe go with a place that rents out huts for the day,as the operators will know where the safe ice is,and also where the fish are so sam can point you in the right direction !!! so good-luck & be safe out there....cheers
