not sure if this fight will be televised, it is a new organization, so unlikely, if it is, maybe a delayed broadcast like they had at Hardcore Championship Fighting -
BASS SEASON IS NOT OPEN UNTIL THE 4TH SAT IN JUNE
steverowbotham replied to steverowbotham's topic in General Discussion
whether you agree with it or not, that is not the debate, the fact is that it is the law, the season is set for a reason. Stay away from their beds, incidental catches happen, but do not keep them, do not fish for them purposely until the 28th is my point. -

For those of you interested, I posted a thread about my brother's first pro MMA fight at HCF: Title Wave. You can find the thread here http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16740 The thread received a lot of interest, and I'm back to let you know that Mike will be returning to action on June 20 on the undercard of Raw Combat: Resurrection, a promotion headed by former Hardcore Championship Fighting partner, Dave Houshiar. Mike is a great wrestler, and has spent the past 7 months training BJJ and Kickboxing to help improve his overall game. You can see a 5 minute interview with Mike at MMACanada.net or click the link below. Be warned, he drops the f bomb one time. http://www.mmacanada.net/home/view/274

I agree that marker buoys are for temporary use. I always pic kthem up when I'm done. I have a GPS and 5 marker buoys. If I saw one out there with no one around, I would have 6 marker buoys.

I also fished the tournament, had a rough go. Our biggest 3 went 8.40 pounds, not sure what place we ended up in. It was a pretty tough bite I thought, only landed 9 fish and lost a few, one giant, but thats fishing. Congrats on the 5th place, come out again next year, its a good event, and weights are usually a bit better than what they were this year. Last year we had 12 something and came 9th.

It's funny how different everyone is. To each his own. A tip is not a requirement, its a personal choice, and often a "thank you for doing a good job"

Emerald shiner 100% and they can be trapped very easily. Crumbled bread in a trap PARALLEL TO SHORE

Like I said, I have been chartering for 4 years. I have spent a LOT of time on the water learning fish movements and patterns. In 4 years, I can honestly say I have not had a client go fishless. This is because of time spent out there, which although enjoyable, is not cheap. I have set rates, which get me by, but I am definitely not insulted by tipping, especially when it comes time for tuition payment.

Not to mention commercial insurance with a minimum 2 million dollar liability, chartering is not cheap, and it usually takes several charters each season before you even start profiting from it. I've been doing it for 4 years now, and I love it, but the profit isnt what you'd think. Most clients I have had have tipped very generously, and it is very much appreciated.

Today I ran a half-day charter out of Lake Dalrymple. The weather was less than optimal, but we made due. I had 4 guys out, which is more than I usually do, but I allowed it for today. One client was 93 years old! He loves to fish though, and I put them on pike all day long. They landed about 20 pike between them, nothing big, but lots of action to keep them busy and took 6 home for some eats. For more information on my guiding, view my OFC listing at http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19381 Below are a couple photos from today.

May 23 I got out to the Scugog River from shore after work tonight for some panfishing. Small exude nymphs on 1/16 oz jigheads under a thill weighted slip float accounted for my full catch. Here's my keepers that eventually made their way into beer battered puffs and into our belly's. May 24 After re-locating to Lindsay I needed to find my brookie fix. I got some topo maps of the area, and figured I had some good water within 30-40 mins. Took a drive and found them pretty quickly, even found a little rainbow juvy. May 31 Got out to a favourite lake today looking for some walleye. Had a slow day, only 1 eye, and lots of pike. Eventually switched over to crappie, just to get some table fare. Looked in the shallow bays and found nothing but OOS bass. Eventually found the crappie in about 8 feet of water and beat em up, biggest was 15 inches. Thanks for reading. I'm out guiding tomorrow, so look for the report

So who fished the tournament on Sturgeon today?
steverowbotham replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
When I fish BASS tournaments in the US, we're not allowed to ask locals within 30 days of the tournament. Plus, not all, but most locals fish "community holes" -
I have used Tom at tourneyshirts.com He does a great job and has done many BASS pro shirts

well done, i thought the river season was done for
