I tried P-Line Fluoroice 4lbs on the weekend , I didn't like it saturday as it kept coming off the spool but I wasn't in my trap. I tried it again yesterday in the Trap and it was pretty good.

This is the Northern Version. Only springs here are the bubbling mud version. Used to be that high society from Europe would come over to bathe in this lovely mud. But not anymore, still some remnants left but not much. 10 minutes East of Ottawa.

Twilight I agree with you about last night, I was on the 417 also heading to Carlsbad Springs and it was awful , I couldn't see 10 feet in front of the car. Like somebody else mentioned try not to tighten up too much, just remember no sudden braking , steering or speeding up, go as fast or as slow as you are comfortable with and don't worry about other drivers around you. Are you new to this area, if so make sure you have snow tires on for the winters here, all season tires just don't cut it!!!!! Take your time and every thing should be okay. By the way the 417 is like that almost with every storm that passes thru. Pretty bad between Anderson and Boundary. What do you drive????

Most companies that make portable shelters always compare themselves to FishTrap's, they say as good as fishtraps or better than fishtraps or similar to Fishtraps.. Just go with a fishtrap and your problems will be solved. There customer service is amazing, there stuff is well built , very easy to set-up . You won't regret buying one.

There's a guy In Wendover on the Ottawa River that has one of those, but it definitely isn't a VW motor cause you hear him coming from a couple of miles away.

If they have a dog house you can just put in a couple of light fixtures they send off heat just make sure that there is some kind of grill in front of them. What kind of dogs are they?? they might not need heat ! I know that my shepherd/lab mix doesn't have heat and when she is inside she found somewhere in the house that is colder than anywhere else and she spends her time there. She usually spends her time outdoors. We usually bring her in when it's colder than -20C, but after a couple of hours she wants out!!!!!!

It's been out for a couple of year. last year it was called the VPG I think. some people like it more than a flasher. For me nothing will replace my Vex.

Last year Dec. 8th, Ottawa River. I've been trying to beat Dec.8th for a while. I've fished the first time on Dec.8th about 5 times so far but never before. I built one similar, but I will add the bottom piece of plywood next year. I just put a recycling bin under the motor fill it with water and my winterizing is easy to do. Having a piece of plywood there will make it easier.

I had an older Merc that did that to me and it was the thermostat that was stuck. When you had it going did you throttle up??? I kept the motor going for a while until I saw some water splashing on the motor and it was sizzling. I called my buddy who knows motors a bit more than me to come over and I soon as I started the motor and the water wasn't peeing he just grabbed the throttle and gave it a shot and the water started peeing and it never happened again after that.

Most will troll about 5 feet above the fish and that long and high inverted v shows the walleye coming up to about to 35 feet to feed so with trolling at about 30 feet I don't see an issue with bringing them up too fast. I like the previous poster reel them in slow and should be okay!!!

DanC Carhartt are definetly warm, but Richmond Hill is not as a cold as Thunder Bay in the Winter so there is a lot of slush out there . And the denim like material of carhart stays wet too long. I am from Northern Ontario myself and I worked outside in Ottawa for 22 years since I left Up north. and we have to wear different clothes down here. Tybo I haven't tried T-Max but it seems to be similar to Goretex for the cold .

Who says that Catch and release doesn't work. that guy has caught that fish weekly for the past couple of years, and all in different waters. Maybe there is underground tunnels between all the lakes. If everything we read on the internet would be true!~!@!!!!
