  1. Not after plucking two fish on the way back to the car with it as he takes pics lol
  2. Easy now, those words can delete that stick mojo right quick
  3. veddy veddy eentelesting
  4. Looks like a light day for you boys lol Drifter must have thought of it as "Balmy" compared to out west with his jacket wide open and all lol
  5. I did my math about a year ago and cut timmies out of the budget. Once in a while on the way to the river i grab one........especially if i have a soar throat brewing or something. But my daily timmies runs have gotten the axe. Id do one every morning on the way in to work, one run for the office mid morning (thats ugly on its own with trying to keep track of whos turn it is.......) And once in a while on the way home. Id switch to ice caps in the summer lol. I said enough was enough and havent looked back. Its way too easy to just look at a simple cup of coffee as no big deal. I have a family member who has a STARBUCKS problem...........Mocha Frappacinos, You wanna talk about an investment. Take your timmies habit and replace it with starbucks prices. She came over christmas morning with one in her hand.........she was late and everyone knew where she was..........yup, out looking for an open Starbucks. She found one.
  6. Mostly its the tap tap of the rod tip, or bounce bounce....kerplunk of the float. But the anticipation is what its all about for me. Almost more fun than the actual landing of the fish. The ride to the launch with friends and family, the preperation of a trip, the meeting at timmies before hand.......tying up stuff the night before, its all like the night before christmas. John started a thread about losing the christmas spirit. I mentioned how ive lost it a bit. I probably didnt lose it, .....it just got transferred to the night before fishing. I have a big thing with NO SITE fishing as well.......something about seeing a fish im fishing for takes some of the fun away from it. I Love the process of throwing something out to the unknown and actually hooking up, when its a multi species situation.........i get that much more giddy about it. Wondering what it is until it flashes at the boat or my feet. "Whatta ya think it is" LOVE THAT!
  7. Isnt that the norm, fish of 1,000 casts and all lol
  8. Wheres Miller in all this goalie talk........
  9. I hear ya john, Im 38 now and it seems to dwindle a little more each year, and i get even more bummed out that it is dwindling, so it takes it even further away from me trying to manufacture that feeling i used to get as a kid. Every now and again i get that flash feeling when i hear a song, or pull out an old decoration i put up now that my parents used to put out every year as a kid. But it doesnt last too long. Dont get me wrong, im still into it, but as we grow up......its a little harder each year. I wouldnt let the kids in the family see that though. I still decorate the house outside and in, i refuse to put up a fake tree or buy a parking lot tree. I make a point to get the immediate family together and go out to ski country and cut down a tree with a lunch afterwards (theres some great places to go make a day of it down here in ellicotville ny) And I make sure im very particular about making the kids x-mas's just right as far as gifts and i dunno. The biggest issue with me is the shopping, if i would just get it DONE a couple weeks before the 25th.........i could sit back and relax and enjoy it as i pass all the malls to go home to my well lit house and collection of x-mas movies
  10. Wow, definitely a stressful situation. Keep us up to date. And give your pup lots of hugs and kisses to help ease the pain. Your a good man for takin care of your buddy
  11. Heard a tidbit on air the other day that Quebec may be getting a team back? Complete rumoured rubbish? Or is there something to get excited about Im no quebecer, but would really welcome the thought. I loved the days when Hunter would roll into Buffalo and play some old time hockey!!! Good Tiimes. I LOVED the league back then. At my nephews practice the other day one of the kids had a Nordique Michelle Goulet Home jersey on lol. (im in buffalo)
  12. i believe the correct response is.....THANKS for the heads up charlied. Ill be sure to keep my gifts in the trunk. Glad you were lookin out for us as i have a habit of rushing out to the car and throwing gifts in the front seat to go back in and finish shopping. Good reminder indeed Enjoy reading all the posts that have absolutely NOTHING to do with your original intent
  13. I wouldnt listen to a whole lot this guy has to say after hearing this. I got a buddy like this. Before he gets all revved up and his stories start to snowball and get out of control, I stop him and say...."DUDE, dont be that guy..... Start over and tell us what really happened"
  14. I made a batch a couple years back with a mini lathe, but cant quite remember how i did them lol........i made one batch and that was that. Im with Bill M and just splurge now
  15. Cool , will do. I dont have a Mic or PA. I plug into this using USB and basically the Podfarm software i use as a plug in to Audacity. Tons of fun with amp and cab simulations , a wackload of effects etc etc.....
  16. The Trans Siberian Orchestra could use a guy like you! Sounds great! I just started the whole recording thing and im fumbling along with my new equipment slowly lol. I bought a POD Studio UX2 (w/ podfarm) and im using Audacity to record Any tips on the whole recording concept would be greatly appreciated dude lol Going from pluggin into an amp to plugging into a PC is a little different for sure
  17. It definitely keeps us on our toes dont it.......it was raining and sleeting on me on the streams yesterday lol.
  18. It was still dumping down in ski country this AM from what i understand (Ellicotville etc....)
  19. No, it makes you a potential storm chaser.........ever think of a career on the Discovery Channel Actually, i think we all love it. It takes ya out of that hum drum day to day grind blah blah blah, and gets a little blood flowing and adrenalin rushing. A little scare once in a while is good for ya. And I AGREE...........i LOVE IT..........ya want it to take you just to the edge of dangerous, or something you havent experienced......But ya just dont want it to go beyond that edge LOL. I dunno, hard to explain, but i hear exactly what your saying. Ive always been the one rooting for the storm, and bummed if it missed me.
  20. Imagine being out on the water and seeing that during a late season musky troll, my god.......i'd probably wet myself
  21. No Solo, but i saw the movie....(dont waste your $ on the rental lol).....but yes, its very "The Mist" like
  22. Ive seen this a few times over the years as i used to work downtown.........a family member sent me these of the storm rolling in to the city yesterday. Awesome
  23. Thats just us Buffalonians Rad............were always that nice. Im glad you came over to experience a GOOD sabres game and not a loss. Man its hard to swallow the ticket price when we lose lol. I went to the Carolina game 2 weeks ago and was right by the net on the side Brindamour had a sure goal against miller and he ROBBED him absolutely blind. (as rick jeannerette would say lol) and like you say, its amazing to be able to focus and watch one guy if you choose instead of watching the tv and the camera following the puck around. I often just pick a player when im at the arena and will watch them and only them the entire shift. Anywya, you picked a heck of a game, and its a very rare occasion youll find any issues with any folks going to a Sabres game. Always a pleasure, at least thats my experience going to them for the last 30 years since i was a kid. Well.......ill add to that one exception.........theres a certain red white and blue team that comes to town now and again that changes your whole experience depending on how close your sitting to them
  24. Just pop an egg in the bag when you hook it on , it will milk plenty
