  1. Thanks snowball, it does look easy, but what im failing to understand is how that is a knot, Hes just wrapping the line around , putting it through the eye of the hook and pulling it tight, as soon as you let go, it will unravel, theres nothing cinching itself to itself lol. I dont get it. If you take the tag end that he puts thru the eyelet last, and push it back through, the whole "wind" would unravel. Does anyone understand what im gettin at?? Ize confused. The snell Im lookin at on an existing harness , the long leader line comes thru the eyelet of the hook but is buried under the "Wrap" or "wind". As is the short trimmed end??
  2. I know theres a function to just show new unread posts when i log back on every day, but is there an option to just show me new replies to my posts? A couple of my other forum sites have the option and its great.......itll only show me new replies to my posts? I can go in and not have to locate or fish thru to find if theres any unread responses to my posts......just hit a button and there they are. Then i can go hit the new unread posts and ALL new unread posts that everyone else has posted throughout the day, or since i last logged on are up for me to peruse thru?
  3. Thats classic that the one guy is looking back right at the camera. Wheres the rest of the pics.
  4. Yeah, ive seen the diagrams you refer to lol. Some dont even complete the knot, some have you tying your fingers to the hook LOL!I can tie an Egg Loop pretty simply, and it looks similair.....in fact a tied a harness up last night (thats why im inquiring about the snell) and just tied the hooks on using egg loops and it worked fine.
  5. Anyone here ever use any of the many snell tying aids on the market. Any success stories out there. Example Rudys Snell Tyer
  6. Saw the discovery special as well......pretty sure teh hammerhead was up there as far as aggressors. I know the whale shark is the most timid of the sharks.
  7. let us know what regional description that is. I have the north east chip (code# 901G) and was looking for nippissing the other day on it as Im planning a possible trip there this May. The region was "squared in" but when zooming in, No Nippissing. Oh well......ill be darned if Im gonna pay 200 bucks just for a once a year trip to Nippissing LOL!!! (Im 6 hours south)
  8. Hey guys, Ive not done this too often (tying my own harnesses) and was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions or killer harness recipes they would like to share. Ive rigged some nice floating harnesses but there wasnt a whole lot of science put into it, basically i just copied some existing harnesses i had. Theres got to be some way to put some more thought into the process to come up with something different on the water. My Oneida trip isnt too far off and Id like to be proactive and be ready to show the fish something new and exciting lol. On Oneida, we mainly slow troll 3 way rigs with long leaders and bottom bouncers with floating harnesses. I dunno, just thought it would be an interesting topic even though its a bit out of season. Ive loooked in cabelas for blades, floats, beads etc.......any other good suppliers out there for making up these homemade rigs?
  9. AWESOME guys, this will give me all i need to start looking into it. Thanks a ton
  10. Hello folks, brand new here.......ive seen some of you on other boards, couple familiar faces anyway. Anyhoo, my first question for the board is this....... Im planning a trip up to Nippissing this May/June and IM having a hard time investigating somewhere to stay. Any folks out there with any ideas for a week long stay on the Lake would be great. I dont need an "A" frame waterfront log cabin......but i would like a clean cabin on the water with a boat dock. Just a shot in the dark guys, thanks in advance......looking forward to conversing with a new group here!
