Might be time to B.reak O.ut A.nother T.housand.
  2. Great job on the rod. What kind of snakes were they? Massasauga's? Tough to tell from the pics and not knowing my snakes all that well. I can't believe I missed dinner. It looked soooooo good! What did you stuff the rolls with? If you don't mind sharing.
  3. Thanks Mike, biggest salmon to come into my boat thus far. Even better is the person that got bring it in. Memories for a life time were made that evening.
  4. I'll have an order of he Walleye Soft Tacos as well with a side of the Walleye Soft Tacos. Looks delicious!!!
  5. That looks like a great place to get away from it all. Great report Jacques.
  6. Have to agree with this. Haven't bought minnows in years for perch fishing.
  7. Nicely done Ryan! Good luck with the house.
  8. That tent sure is a nice alternative to bringing your own. Nice pics and report.
  9. I've never threatened to take out their eyes before, going to have to keep that one file for future fishing trips. Great report Chad.
  10. Great party, band was fantastic and the pulled pork was to die for!! Next time I'm bringing a box of Ziploc bags.
  11. Nice report Simon and great to hear your mother-in-law is doing better. I like your idea of coming to the city for a few days and the rest of the year in paradise. If it was me I might be able to do the city trips every 2-3 years, maybe longer in between .
  12. I can't believe you don't have them in your tackle box already... Nice fish Glenn.
  13. No riggers, dipseys on the corners and leadcore out on the boards. I've been playing with the idea of getting a pair of riggers for years. For the number of times I go out, it's tough to justify the money. (I'd want electrics. ) One of these days I might just throw in the towel and get a pair. It's pretty amazing the things they have seen. We get excited when a fish jumps when we are fishing, they've had whales breaching off the back of their boat, can only imagine that happening. I believe I posted this a while about but thought I'd share it again. A very small part of the journey they had. It was the perfect evening on the lake Joe. I don't know how many times we said that. Weather was awesome, the lake was playing nice and the fish were biting. Thanks for the replies everyone.
  14. It took a bit of planning, a lot of luck with the weather and the fishing but everything lined up perfectly. My good friend Nik was back in town from Malaysia, taking a short break from sailing around the world. With all the family and friends him and his wife try to see while back in town it is tough to plan anything, let alone a few hours of fishing. A window opened up in the schedule and we took advantage of it and he brought his niece along, Hannah loves fishing with me. So with a couple of short stops we were on the water and fishing by 5pm. It was only a matter of 15 minutes or so and the first fish was on. A nice rainbow of about 5 pounds that Hannah was fighting when it jumped about 20 feet behind the boat and got off. Oh well, it was still early in the evening. Lines are were all set up when we had another fish on and off pretty quick and then a small shaker to the boat. Then things went quite for a while. Feeling OK with the time we had spent together with a bit of fish action, sharing some stories, getting caught up and having lots of laughs, when the suddenly the dispey goes screaming out. I grab the rod and pass it to Hannah who then is begging for help as this brute peels off more then 100ft of line. After some great rod handling and coaching the fish is in the net. A couple of shots and back she went. Pretty awesome salmon for her first one ever!! We trolled for another hour and lost one smaller fish while pulling lines at the end of the trip. An awesome evening with some awesome people. Here's a couple more shots of the evening. Nik at the helm. Figured if he can handle a 42ft sailboat from Vancouver to Malaysia without incident he can handle my 17fter. Some very happy fisher people. Watching the sunset as the moon is rising over my shoulder. And a beautiful sunset it was. A perfect end to the weekend. Till the next time!!
  15. Sounds like some great time spent by the water with a couple of bonus brutes. Well a great time minus the headache hope your feeling better today. Next trip, camera and Advil. Thanks for the report!
  16. Awesome report and pics, sweet fish!
  17. Awesome report again Mike!! What a great experience for the kids (and adults) I'm sure.
  18. Excellent information Marc, thank you for taking the time to post it. I've certainly spent up to an hour with a fish before feeling comfortable that it would be fine but had no idea about the mortal release rate taking up to 6 days. (November fish, water temps in the 40's, short fight from a casting fish and have no idea why she took so long to revive.) In my 25+ years of musky fishing I have yet to have a fish that didn't swim away and have always wondered if they made it in the days ahead. I guess I'll never know the answer to that question but still feel comfortable in knowing that I did all that I could with the knowledge I had at the time. Thanks for increasing my knowledge a bit more today.
  19. Awesome fish. So important to take the time to make sure they are going to be OK when released. There's a man that is assuring his future business.
  20. Tough to compete with Elvis but Road Gravy might be able to do so.
  21. I would think it may make the net too stiff to pull back into the handle. I got one of the the Conservation Series nets last year and love it. The mesh is rubber coated and the handle (telescopic) collapses down into the hoop for easy storage. (Not as compact as the one you have.) I guess you could try spraying you mesh and if it doesn't work, just buy a replacement for it. Edit - or just by a rubber coated mesh and see if it works. Replacement Netting.
  22. Forget the apologies Bob, far more important things then fishing right now. (I'm not even in the tournament.) My thoughts, prayers, best wishes to your misses!!!!
  23. I was thinking the same thing. Nice Fish!
  24. Can't see the pics at work but will check them out tonight. The rest of the report is awesome, although I'm sure it didn't seem like that at the time. Sounds like you both won the lottery. Happy Anniversary!! And have a great vacation!
