As some of you may know tomorrow is Lew and Diane's 58th wedding anniversary. "Wow" there is something to be said for that. Happy anniversary folks and many more to come. Lew, 58th wedding anniversary is called Maple Wedding, which seems suiting, you being a nature nut (such as myself)and Diane enjoying the wildlife photos. Wishing you two a very super nice anniversary.
Very nice fish ! However, those vertical holds aren't the best to ensure a healthy release. That's a lot of unsupported weight pulling down on the spine.
Happy 58th Anniversary to a couple who proves that love, laughter, and a healthy dose of stubbornness can make anything last! May your love keep blooming, your patience stay strong, and your sense of humor never run out - because that's what it's all about. Cheers to you both!
Hi all,
After a chilly morning doing yard work I couldn’t resist, the lake was flat calm and bluebird skies so I texted my neighbour who was up for it in 2 seconds flat…. Lol. We headed out to the brushpiles and had non stop crappie for 2 hours with a couple small walleye and one decent one. Few more walleye suspended over the basin that would only investigate a jig and minnow, ended up with the bigger one on power bait minnow. Some decent weather ahead so will keep the boat ready a bit longer.
58, that's fantastic Lew. I spent hours this morning going through archives of photos on multiple discs trying to find one I know I have of you and Diane at Lakair, with Marvin and failed to find it. I did however this one of you ice fishing for Musky ...... JK 😆
Happy 58th Anniversary to you and Diane, may you both enjoy many more.
My son hooked a walleye up by Perch Ripple and a huge muskie grabbed it, wouldn't let go. 10 minutes later ,it ripped a 22"-24" walleye in half and was gone! All we seen was a huge flash.
Made a little progress this morning. Unfortunately the seamless hood piece broke into 3 pieces as I was parting it off, which of course slowed down my morning progress. I did however manage to salvage it and get back on track. There is one chip out you can see at the top right seam that I can repair once the entire reel seat and handle is assembled onto the blank, it will never fail nor will it even be visually marred. It will take time though to get a (near) flawless finish on it as there's many micro cavities in the wood.
