  1. Hi All, So way back in December last year Brian sent me some of his buggy type jigs to try out, after many excuses and missed opportunities I put them to the test today....WOW....the crappie loved them!!! The fish were being picky as hell and I had tried everything with no resultslts except window shoppers, then I remembered (at last) that I had Brian's creations in my jig box, I tied one on and window shoppers became repeat customers....the fish just smoked them! Thanks again Brian, very kind of you to gift me some of your jigs, I won't be hesitating or forgetting them again.

  2. I use the saltwater series in my rebuilds because I fsh salt and brackish water and they are excellent. I dunk em after each trip in fresh water take them apart and clean them after my vacation. It might be overkill but the few people who get to use my equipment have enjoyed how smooth and far it casts. Art

  3. I agree Bill. The higher the ABEC rating, the higher the tolerances...but that doesn't mean they spin any "faster". At the RPM that fishing reels turn at, and the minimal torsional load, it's really not that critical.

  4. I did a bunch of research into Lithium phosphate's and 2 budget friendly brands kept coming back time after time as a good deal that are built well that are easy to order from Amazon. Li Time - $369 Power Queen - $349 The basic models do not have low temp charging cut offs, but then again your AGM's are not supposed to be charged below 0C either. No bluetooth either. AOL Lithium seems to be also very well made according to several reviews but you need to order from their website. I pulled the trigger on 2 Power Queen 100ah's as my AGM's are just too heavy. cutting the trolling motor battery weight from 140lbs to 50lbs is significant enough to make the switch. My current AGM's are Nautilus AGM extreme XD's group size 31's - $665 each currently at CT. If you have the money and want to go with Dakota, Ionic, or Battleborn that is great as well. But the few battery brands above seem to be a good budget option with a decent reputation thus far. Time will tell. BM

  6. Boca may be the more expensive but they are also the best and will pay for themselves in the long run over cheaper ones. With the cost of reels these days it's worth it. I worked on a lot of aircraft fan assemblies and there was one in particular that needed to be overhauled after 100 hours. Well someone in purchasing decided to buy a cheap version of the same bearing and those motors started coming in to the shop with failures after 50-60 hours. So I went to my boss and he made sure that purchasing went back to the much more expensive bearings and there were no more issues with failed bearings. You'll never regret buying a quality product in the long run.

  7. That colour in particular is doing the damage. I tried your drop shot type rig yesterday, I think it was too ‘busy’ for the fish, for crappie anyway. Walleye like ‘em too. The heavier tungsten sounds interesting, would that increase the overall size a lot?

  8. Thanks buddy and that's the same one CLIFF was smashing perch on. I have heavier tungsten beads on the way. 7/32 & 1/4. Those will drop much fast for you.
