  1. When I received my flat black jig heads from Ugli Boys Baits, this is what I had envisioned. These are going to be killer for so many fish, not just bows.

  2. If anyone can put you on Muskies in the Larry it's Marc Thorpe. Mind, he is out of the Montreal area. Google him for contact info. I am guessing he may already be booked for the season.

  4. Hi, I'm not trying to argue but using Crossborderpickups cost about 15.00 per package plus duties and taxes plus a 3% transaction fee. It could be good if you live in the GTA but elsewhere not so great. If you live within a reasonable distance to a border crossing a Kinek address works really well. You will need to drive over and pick it up and then clear it thru customs. Kinek provides you with a US address to ship things to and in some cases you can save a bunch of money however I don't see it with the Weize batteries in this scenario.

  5. I was up there on the weekend. We had to weed our way through a lot of smaller fish, with two keepers and one over the slot. Jig and minnow, hook the minnow in the tail and let it swim. The fish were coming in waves, so be prepared to wait for them for a bit between waves. Time of day didn't seem to really matter. If I were going up, I would do my best to get away from the other huts and look for 15 to 25 ft of water under the ice. There is plenty of ice and the ice roads were perfect on the weekend. No need for a 4x4 to get out to the huts. HH

  6. Crossborderpickups my man. Makes shipping things directly to Canada and all the Bull that comes along with it a thing of the past.

  7. I looked at the Weize but wasn't able to find them available in Canada. You can buy them on Amazon.com but theywill not ship to Canada. Even if you have them delivered to a Kinek box they cost more than the Flypower with the high dollar exchange and then you still need to pay applicable duty and taxes. Even though they have a 10 year warranty I think the Flypower"s with the 5 year warranty are a better deal right now and they have good support from their warehouse in Montreal.

  8. Been involved with a conservation group for over 25 years. We started out raising and releasing pheasants for the township hunt, then morphed into fish netting surveys, planting water plants (30,000 of them),planted thousands of trees, fishing derbies, bluebird nest boxes, trail building, benches, shoreline erosion, and dozens more projects. We will be building a swallow nesting structure on a 40 acre property that was reclaimed farmland. This is kind of a signature site for us and 3400 shrubs and almost 4000 trees later we just have to remove some fencing and it will be finished. I am not sure how long we will be keeping it going because of the age of the volunteers involved and most of what needed to be done has been completed. The fish population at the Binbrook conservation area has crashed and we will be pressing the Niagara Conservation Authority to study the issue but they have limited resources and a lot of internal turmoil to deal with..

  9. I'd also be buying from the US and using a service like Crossborderpickups. Seems like we're still paying a really high premium over here.
