  1. With all of the things going on in the world we have found that we needed another set of hands here at OFC. We have asked a long time friend and active member of the board to help out. Misfish or Brian has stepped up to the plate and has accepted the position of Administrator to help us deal with the management and problem solving issues that pop up occasionally. We want everyone to give a warm welcome to Brian and to know he is here to help with any issues that you might have. OFC

  2. I finally got out ice fishing on Monday, last year it was a struggle to get enough decent perch for a feed, not a problem this year. I am not going to give you a number but from the time we got there until we left it was one after another, often with both of us pulling up double headers at the same time. There were a few dinks but most of them were 10+" with a few monsters thrown in. I can honestly say it was probably the best day catching I can ever remember. (We both only kept about 20 fish) Conditions out there were pretty good, ice seemed to be 8- 10 " but there seemed to be quite a bit of slush building up by the end of the day. Days like that I am glad i go out with an operator, it's worth the money for me to not have to worry getting stuck, that's work for a young man 😊 Once again, thanks to Tim Hales and his crew for another fantastic day!

  3. Managed to get a few orders completed this morning as the smoker was doing what it does,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sweet and salty candy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thursday looks like a good morning to get a few hours in before that cold snap shuts them down. That,s ok, work the weekend and another barometer change come Monday. Just in time for fishing again.

  4. Have not been out since last wednesday. My gawd, the snow walk is killer. Or maybe getting old is killer.🀯 Fish were tight to the bottom under all the herring and smelts. They would come in,but move on by. Finally the bait fish moved along and the it only took 5 min to hook up. One on the meegs , the other on a high hook preg scud I tied. Will be in the smoker in the AM.

  7. Well I walked away from GMs after a new car ended up in the shop 9 times in less that 80k km for majour problems and GM wouldn't do anything to help me until I threatened to paint lemons on it and park it in front of the dealership. They finally agreed to have the dealership go over the car one last time, cost $1600,00 just in parts. I sold it the next day. I have had 3 Nissans, one had to have the engine replaced within the first 10k, it was faulty from the day I picked it up, the last one had so many issues with it right from day one, even the dealer just shook his head. My last Toyota was pretty good until the dealership started to nickel and dime me, told me I needed new brakes......., took it elseware, brakes were still 50%, when I did decide to try and trade up, they gave me a much lower trade in value than what I got and they didn't seem at all interested, perhaps because delivery on what I wanted was 6 months or more out. Up until covid hit and supply started going down hill, they had been fantastic to deal with. I got the feeling they were trying to make up for the lack of sales by service work. I did a lot of research before I signed on the dotted line and I am comfortable with not only the manufacturer but the dealership. I have only had this one for a week now and I am so impressed in the way it handles, it is so much quieter on the road, much more comfortable than the RAV 4, the layout of the controles is easier to see and access.... I don't think there is a manufacturer out there that doesn't have some issues, it's how they and the dealership respond to thoes issues that make the difference. 😊
