There's gotta be a better way to make a buck.
I often feel that I don't have the "go to lure" when times get slow.
That's the best time to get back to simple and do what you know works.
A plain little grub on a jig head just dragging the bottom does wonders at times.
Two extremes from a slow day both on the same little grub. I also tagged a perch a pile of smallmouth two largemouth bass and a lake trout with this little lure.
My " go to " lure had a habit of changing when I needed it most. Down sizing worked at times, a simple color change or action and depth change. 1/8th to 1/4 ounce hair jig can be magic at times.
We stayed with Tony and his wife in one of there cabins about seven years ago, best pike fishing on top water baits i have ever experienced and fantastic service. We shall return when time permits. P.s the complimentary bottle of lost lake red was also excellent.
