  1. Spent quite a bit of time on the water last week. Fish didn’t come easy. A couple of skunkings on walleye, a broken trolling motor, many km and plenty of hours on the water. Finally found some active fish. Got them on a variety of baits with the big swimbaits and soft plastic jerkbaits getting most of the fish. They did not want the jerk bait at all for some reason. The new Minn Kota maxxum performed flawlessly. I should have got one long ago. Love the responsiveness of the cable rive

  3. Thanks Misfish. Most of the pics are in the dead of night and you can't see any background lol. Just want to crop out the houses and keep the water in the pics. That way people can't say I went fishing at the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto lol ?

  6. Here's a nice chunky incidental largie I got while casting for muskies. Used to actually get lots of them chasing huge baits

  8. I have a herd of Garmin's on my boat and they are excellent units. As has been said, go up to a 5 or bigger. The 4" units are just too small when you want to use the sonar and GPS in split screen mode. You're better off going with an Echomap Plus or Echomap Chirp unit with the Canadian Lakeview maps built in rather than the basic GPS of the Striker units. These are the 7" and 9" Echomap Chirp units on my boat.

  9. A Polaris 500 HO is the best machine on the market! I owned one and sold it when I sold my daughters Polaris 90 --> very happy with both Polaris bikes. Will be buying a new one shortly - 500 EFI (to avoid the carburetor and associated challenges with winterizing)….
