  1. Past hour
  2. Made it out from 2pm till 4pm, actually made it out by 1pm but had to take some time to check the ice as i'd not been to this lake so far this year. There was 13" in the access bay but that always freezes first so I walked all the way to where it opens out to the main body and there was around 8"....good to go! Bite didn't start till 3pm. I missed a bunch and landed a few in a fun hour, they were definitely hitting the plastics with more enthusiasm than live minnows. We have a storm rolling in here so I left before dark as it was already whiteout conditions and I did not want to navigate 10 miles of unstated lakes in the dark in a blizzard, glad I left when I did as it was 5 feet visibility all the way back.
  3. I love fishing crappies, unfortunately I don’t know that area…. Tight lines! Oh, maybe check out the member ‘Misfish’ and his panfish bugs…crappie love ‘em.
  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. Thanks for the reply I will definitely hold off for a bit until the lake freezes up completely.
  6. Today
  7. Sent you a dm. Don't go too soon...as of this afternoon the main basins still had open water.
  8. Hi all - I am planning on targeting crappie for the first time through the ice on Bobs lake this year and am wondering if anyone has some suggestions on types of structure to target and a general area on the lake that would be worth while. Don't need anyone's specific spots just looking for some general advice on how to approach the lake.
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. Hello Ontario Fishing Community, my name is Noah and i'm from Ottawa originally now based in Toronto. Since moving to Toronto I have been getting into Salmon and Steelhead fishing since I was never able to target those fish back home. Always looking to meet new people out on the water and if anyone is looking for new fishing partners let me know. I fish year round and target pretty much all species found in Ontario.
  11. Yesterday
  12. After two weeks of applying multiple layers of Birchwood/Casey's Tru-Oil daily I have finally boxed and wrapped up the Christmas gift knives I made for my daughter's. There are indeed a number of minor flaws on both handles that I will address going forward on future knife builds but I am overall happy with the end results. I didn't designate either knife outright, I will let them choose between themselves who gets the Red package and who gets the Green one.

  14. Thanks again for the kind words . Busy with some new stuff . SQUIGS and HEAVY HITTERS Squigs are made of a soft gummy material the fish will hold on to . Same 7/32 tungsten beads on size 8 & 10 2X jig hooks . Ice grub heavy hitters are 1/4" tungsten glow beads on #8 2X jig hooks More to come . Just getting started on a few others .
  15. Well I have a beautiful selection that I bought from you last year and I kicked ass with them. I have never had anything that worked so well! My biggest problem is that I used to outfish most of my buddies until I started (loaning) them out, and I never got them back😊. Not only are they the most effective baits I have ever used, they are truly works of art. I really wish I had your talent.

  17. It sounds like you are purchasing your supplies from US resellers/ wholesalers, hence the tariffs. Have you explored buying directly from the source country or a third party country like the UK ? Although, the US puts high tariffs on imported goods, Canada has dropped most of the reciprocal tariffs. If you can circumvent the goods going through the US, it should reduce your landed cost. Great looking jigs, and all the best with your enterprise. The Crappie jigs I bought from you have been killer !
  18. Thanks again I sold out in about a week and a half . It was intended to be a limited run,as I had a limited amount of supplies . I have since got a crazy amount of orders for more , so I have put in an order for more beads and materials . Will be about a week or so before I get my orders . I lucked out on this order as the next I will not be so lucky . . All stock that suppliers are bring in now, are priced with the new tariffs . The percentage increase is extremely stupid crazy . US and China are killing the affordable prices . Brass, tungsten and hooks . Here are a couple examples In September due to raw material increases they imposed 10% on Brass and 20% on tungsten. Our procurement cost for tungsten powder increased to US$110 per kilogram, last month was US$85/kg, in September was US$66/kg. The cost is increasing at a rapid pace! Additionally, our suppliers have indicated that tungsten powder prices may rise further to $150 per kilogram next month. Due to this ongoing price instability, we can no longer offer fixed pricing for tungsten products. We kindly request that you inquire about the latest quotation prior to placing any future orders, and we will always provide a price based on the current procurement cost. Daiichi who raised their prices 146% on 100 packs due to factory increases, Japan tariff's and eliminating my advantage of buying by the 1,000's (multiples of 10 x 100pc) to the same price as if I just bought one only pack of 100
