Kennymb2001 Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Hi All, heading up to Bancroft area, staying on paudaush lake. Wondering if anyone is willing to tell me of any walleye lakes in the area, that may be worth trying. Not looking for honey holes, just some lakes that may be worth spending some time on. Thank you.
Steve Piggott Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Go to the mnr office in town. Get the stocking list. There is alot of good lakes to fish.

Most of the stocking in that area would be trout, I doubt there's much in the way of Walleye stocking. He could use the Fish-On line resource to check local lakes for populations of Walleye though. Edit: I just found the Bancroft stocking list from 2016 -2020 and of the 300+ lakes they are all trout except 3 with Walleye. Barnum lake and Black Lake and Loom Lake.
CrowMan Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 (edited) Back in the day, we used to do OK on Baptiste and Elephant Lakes for Walleye...that was over 20 years ago. Of course, back then there was also a healthy Muskie population in those lakes...the Pike invasion put an end to that.. The stocking lists don't show any lakes recently getting Walleye in the Bancroft District. https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/services/FishONLine/StockingList.aspx?json=true&fmz=18&stock=AllSpecies&diagnostics=false&lang=en Edited February 5 by CrowMan

Years ago Dad had a cottage on Loon, we'd get them and good size too, but it was a night bite always because of the clear water, probably could count the ones we incidentily caught daytime on one hand in 20 years Edited February 5 by dave524
