HTHM Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 I just looked into updating my Navionics chart, and it is going to cost $210 for a one year subscription. Kind of pricey in my opinion. I was up at Stoney lake last weekend and had no chart information at all. No contours, depths, or even islands on the screen. Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternate chart source? I have a networked pair of Lowrance Carbon 7's.
Terry Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 Do you losethe map after the subscription is over or do you just not get updates anymore
HTHM Posted October 6 Author Report Posted October 6 I have a Navionics card, BillM Terry, it appears I do not get updates anymore.
Terry Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 Chances are there have been little if any changes to your charts it the states the activity redo the lake charts but in Canada they just don’t do much so any changes are small in most cases
BillM Posted October 7 Report Posted October 7 If you've got maps updated in the past 10-15 years I wouldn't pay for updates now. It's not like the lake changes You can check on the Navionics site which map card covers which lake or region you fish in. You might be able to 'upgrade' your current card for much cheaper than $210.
LeXXington Posted October 7 Report Posted October 7 I checked and my subscription ran out in 2019 still have all my maps. They want $80 to download new. I also use Gamin Active Captain that has all the maps. My guess is they want to get rid of the app from Nav and get people over to Gamin. Since Garmin owns both why have 2 apps the do the same thing.
