Iggy Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 I lost a dear dear friend this week. All of a sudden, no warning, just gone. Not often you have a close friend that you golf with, hunt with, fish with. He was one of my greatest friends of all time. RIP Bob Loved ya. I post this, not for sympathy, please don't, but look at your close friends and realize tomorrow you could wake up and they're gone. 4 1
lew Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 Sorry to hear that, it's tough when you lose a close friend like that. My closest bud and I were like brothers for 40 years and always together. He's the reason we bought this house here in the boonies as they were only a couple miles down the road. It was great for 18 months then he suddenly got sick and died. My wife and his wife are still best friends after 1/2 a century but at least I've still got a head full of memories. 2

I also really hope that I will soon find a great friend, someone who can go fishing with me every weekend, and sometimes go to a cafe. I am 25 years old.
BillM Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 My condolences man. It's scary how fast life can make a 180 on you. I thought I pulled a calf muscle playing hockey last week, that turned out to be a blood clot in my leg which in turn resulted in my lungs being full of blood clots as well. You definitely gotta enjoy the time while you can because you never know when it's going to be snatched away from you.
bigbuck Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 I lost a good friend earlier in the summer. Massive heart attack and it was over for him. He just retired 2 years ago and had a few grandkids that he absolutely adored. We never know what is going to happen tomorrow. Bill, I hope you get those clots cleared up quick. I have an aneurysm in my gut that has my vascular surgeon really concerned because if it pops, I am pretty much a goner and the surgery to repair it requires him to gut me like a fish. Live hard and enjoy every minute.
Snakecharmer Posted October 9 Report Posted October 9 Sorry for your loss. Every day is a blessing, you never know when the clock is going to stop.

My wife developed an aneurysm on the bottom of her brain 20 years ago. The surgeon had to remove part of her skull, then lift her brain up to repair it, put the brain back where it belonged and patch up the skull and after that she was 100% fixed up. In my opinion, there's not enough $$$$ to over pay a guy with skills like that. Edited October 9 by lew 1
bigbuck Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 I totally agree Lew. The things they are able to do are amazing but for other things they still scratch their heads….

Live hard and enjoy every minute. My dad died of an abdominal aneurysm in 2020. He didn't have any warning. I just remember all the good times we had together to help me get through the loss.
