limeyangler Posted December 6, 2023 Report Posted December 6, 2023 Hi all, It’s been about a week since our bay here on Lake Wabigoon froze and stayed frozen after numerous false starts due to really unusually mild temps. Was pretty confident it was safe as since it froze 24hr temps have averaged below zero, little video below…… 3

Rizzo Posted December 7, 2023 Report Posted December 7, 2023 game on...heading to St Clair tomorrow to face off against 30-40 k winds. Good times.

Wow…that’s a decent Walleye chop…you’re braver than me for sure, tight lines and I would love to see some pics of your adventures.
Rizzo Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 been trying to get there all fall and keep getting re-routed due to winds. This time we are going for it. Its a huge wind but we are on the south shore and its a south wind so we will see. Worst case scenario we go to the Thames instead...but man I hate the Thames.
LostAnotherOne Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 Thames is the worst. Never caught 1 fish trolling through there. If you can get out into the lake then you got a chance. Only got out into the the lake once out of about 6 times as it was way too windy everytime. I just may have crappy luck, but I'm done with St.Clair.
Rizzo Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 well we went for it and it worked out fine. Winds were maybe less than predicted and very fisheable. Water temps were 36 degrees and we caught two, lost one more. We only saw one other fish get caught by the 7 or 8 boats fishing the same area. Nothing huge. Sorry to hijack the thread but figured you would like to know! Caught ours casting rather than trolling. 2
lew Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 Good to hear you got into a couple Roger. 1

Thanks for the update, not hijacking , we are in ‘General Discussion’ after all , but I am jealous that you get to cast for musky and catch a couple too, good job! 1
