Old Ironmaker Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Thanks guys, now I know. I know there is a big difference between commercial and residential. My younger brother started his apprenticeship at 17 with his then future father in law. They did mostly new residential during the booms then repair calls in between. I called him "tin whacker" drove him nuts. That guy can still take a piece of tin, left and right snips a 2X4 and a hammer and turn it into Art. A pal still is working and he is the guy that climbs onto the roof of a Shoppers Drug Mart. You guys probably know him, lives on 56 HWY south of Binbrook and has a cottage near me.
leaf4 Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 It's not even cold yet Agreed, but now is the time to run a few cycles and ensure there's no issues, your furnace likely hasn't fired up heat in at least 6+ months, That way when it is cold you're not stranded waiting on parts to keep warm
DRIFTER_016 Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 My furnace died early yesterday morning. Called up the landlord who was out of town and told him what was going on. He told me to call in the repair guy, which I did. Problem was the fan in the vent that pulls the pressure switch. East fix and heat is restored.
DRIFTER_016 Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Just in time for the snow eh Dave Been snowing off and on for a few weeks now.
Old Ironmaker Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 No need to run my new furnace installed last spring, it has been cold out here and it kicked on at 65F. Cold winter, bring it on.
