lew Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Some really nice pictures Joey, specially the 2nd one. I had one in the front yard a few days back but they seem pretty rare around this area, infact I think it's the only one I've seen since moving here.
Joey Posted May 23, 2014 Author Report Posted May 23, 2014 Thanks Lew. The second one did turn out kind of neat. They only stick around for a month or so in spring. You have to really look for them. I know they are bright orange and all, but they like to hide in the bushes. I had a hard time finding this one. I went out looking where I saw them last year and finally, after an hour, saw just this one in the blossoms for about 2 minutes, then it flew off.
Rodbender Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 NIce Joey I counted 14 nest's today where I go they are every where there. I'm still after the Orchard Orioles that are there too but they are shy compared to the Baltimores.
Twocoda Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Cut an orange in half and stick it on a tree ...voila... They even like the hummingbird feeders Great shots Joey...love the second one too Edited May 25, 2014 by Twocoda
Ralph Field Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Love seeing the bird pictures posted here.
BillM Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Awesome pics Joey! Got a few pics of a female that was hanging around my parents house. The males were busy chasing each other around Female Oriole by billmarz, on Flickr
Joey Posted May 26, 2014 Author Report Posted May 26, 2014 Nice shot Bill. I saw a few chasing each other too. Too fast for my reflexes though so no shot
