Sharkbait22 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 What are folks using to hold their floats? Last spring my floats took-on some damage. I was thinking of using some kind of hard sided container BUT I don't want something bulky if possible. I like to go light on tackle. Thanks
bare foot wader Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I had the same problem, used to use a pencil case until i sat on my wading jacket on my tail gate and crushed/cracked a few floats and broke some shafts I took a plano container (about 4x8" - not sure what model size it was) and I cut out all of the walls inside, so it's just a box with a lid...works great, holds a days supply easy or you can carry a couple of boxes with differernt styles in each
BillM Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I use a camera sling pack for all my stuff.. Floats, hooks, roe, whatever. Always close, never in the way, doesn't weight anything..
Pigeontroller Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 A small plastic water bottle. Good idea, check out lexan and plastic bottles at an outdoor store like sail.
SRT8 smoker craft Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I use a old tylenol bottle one of the big ones real tough and a nice wide opening to get them out from but I pretty much only use drennan slip floats so they are fairly small
Twocoda Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 i normally keep mine just outta reach in the heaviest current...not the greatest method i know because ya have to wait for the water levels to drop to switch em up
Ron Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I use a hard case for prescription glasses. Can easily fit a dozen in there, all sizes.
Ralph Field Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I use a plastic food container that holds about 20 floats and fits my inside pocket of my vest. I likely never use more than 2 or 3 floats in a day, so I cannot give you a reason for carrying 20.
Sharkbait22 Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 I use a hard case for prescription glasses. Can easily fit a dozen in there, all sizes. Best idea I've heard. Thank you.
