Gear Oil from walmart

Anyone using the Super Tech gear oil from walmart? The label says it is good for marine lower unit gear oil. It is $6.47 per liter.

I have used their SuperTech 2 cycle oil for a long time....I'm convinced it's made by Lubermatic....good stuff for a great price.....is the gear oil the correct weight for your outboard....if so you wouldn't have a problem with it.....I have used automotive gear oil in my outboard for many years as it's the same stuff in a different bottle for a lot less money.

Made a MISTAKE and sent a '' BUDDY '' to pick up a liter of gear lube for me.......came back with a liter of mercury high performance gear lube $ 19.28 with the tax :wallbash :

OUCH.....take it back........gear lube can be had for about $3.99 here....

Priced a replacement gearcase? I would only use merc,brp,yamma lube or amsoil but whatever its your money.

For an extra 10 bucks I would go with the good stuff ! Been using Quicksilver (Mercury) oils for years and no problems .

Old Timers know that Oil/Gear Lube don't get any better because it's in a fancy bottle marked Mercury on it.....

What viscosity and specification does your lower unit require?? Brand doesn't matter too much.
