mike rousseau Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 I decided it was time to try something different for cooking some walleye... I had heard about bacon wrapped walleye... And if you haven't tried it... TRY IT!!!!!! It's really easy to make... Just cut your walleye into bite size chunks... Wrap the chunks with a 1/3-1/2 peice of bacon... Put the wrapped chunks on toothpicks or scewers (sp)... And I put some of Mercmans BBQ sauce on em... Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.... Very tasty treat...
Billy Bob Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 As my duck hunting buddy Don always said....you can take dog crap and wrap it in bacon and it will taste good.....
bobowski Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 My mouth is watering. I have some Perch in the freezer that I think will try this recipe with.
mercman Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 With the secret dipping sauce!!!!!!nummy nummy
Rod Caster Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Looks tasty Mike. Maybe that's the recipe to try with Ling
mike rousseau Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 That looks really gooooood!!!!! Personally, I think I'd use that recipe on a muddy mid August bass. Save the cold water walleye for flour and butter i have no need to "save" my walleye... i have an endless year round supply... there is only a 6-8 week stretch when i cant get "fresh" walleye cause the season is closed... i pretty much only eat walleye... dont really like bass... and perch are too much work.....
mike rousseau Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 the key was a nice sweet BBQ sauce.... Mercman sells the stuff i used... "Cattle Boyz"
asdve23rveavwa Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Man, I'm glad I just had lunch. Definitely have to try that one, maybe Sunday if all goes well tomorrow
bigugli Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Dip them in a little clarified garlic butter, and a slice of good crumbly bread and you got it made.
