Do you think this algae bloom will affect Buckhorn given that the 2 lakes are connected? We booked a cottage on Buckhorn for the 1st week of July and wondering if we should stay out of the water. Jer Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 I think these blooms are generally quite localized, I haven't seen any sign of it on Buckhorn as of yet. There's a lot of water between the "back channel" and Buckhorn.

There's a lot of water between the "back channel" and Buckhorn. We had it here in Sturgeon lake several years ago, didn't spread to any other lakes and seemed quite localized. It is easy to spot if it is around.
misfish Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 You should of seen all the green cars and trucks at Lakair. Unreal. Tybo(Paul) was tAlking about it friday night and saying how it effects the bite. Wish I could understand him,or maybe it was me.LOL
jediangler Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 It didn't affect the muskies or walleye on Saturday. Both of these fish were caught in the algae bloom on Saturday.
