they are targeting a specific size fish in a lake that is packed with perch. i dont see the problem

Commercial fishing has been a fixture on Lake Erie for over 150 years. It is the largest inland freshwater fishery in the world, fyi. What is there to debate? Sport fisherman can't have the fisheries all to themselves. Those fish end up in grocery stores across Ontario and provide economic benefits to those communities.
