ssauvain Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Hello all I am going to fishing Birch Lake Northeast of Ear Falls on a fly in this summer. Solopaddler said the water is a stained tannin color....I assume this is a dark water...what are the colors of choice in these waters for Walleyes and Lake Trout and Northern. Appreciate any help and thanks again....
urbanangler1990 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) id geuess bright colors, orange, yellow, white, chartuese, or the glow in darks, twister tails in these colors on jigs Edited March 7, 2007 by urbanangler1990
douG Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I've had good success with blue /silver, and even black / gold in tea stained lakes.
ssauvain Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 I agree two years ago we flew out of Ear Falls to Saddle Lake and it was a very dark water...and we killed them with blue/silver shad raps, wildeye's, and Husky Jerks.
FinS Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 i like to use copper harnesses #3-4 blade and chartreuse/orange jigs with twister tails good combo for tea stained water give it a shot you got nothing to lose
GbayGiant Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 CHARTREUSE Works in clear water to, don't know why the fish love it.
