Stoty Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Hey everyone, I've noticed there's been a lot of questions about the Bay of Quinte recently. Just thought I'd share some info since I am on it all the time. There is lots if safe ice out there, but also lots of unsafe areas too. Always spud on the way out to be sure. I've heard of good fish being caught all over the place from Belleville to Deseronto. We had another 20+ fish day with the fish ranging from 2-8lbs. We have had all our success fishing flats adjacent to deeper water. Were fishing the 24-28 ft range and getting ALL of our fish on Northland Macho Minnows and Buckshots tipped with live minnows. If you can get your hands on any of those, grab them!! Every store I've been to (including Bass Pro) is completely sold out. Overall the ice is pretty good, but always always be safe!

Leecher Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Thanks Jamie for the great info I was going to ask you, what depth you were catching them I still don't know which area we are targetting yet but rest assure, will be hunting the 24-28 ft range!!! You mind sharing the color patterns for the Buck Shots?? Have a couple of them.... one is chartreuse and yellow and the other is silver and blue. Leechman

Stoty Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Posted February 7, 2010 The bite slowed down yesterday after the cold front that came through but we still managed 18 fish with the biggest being 11lbs. The fish are on this morning though! We've iced 7 so far, biggest being 5.5lbs. Same patterns and depths as before. 24-28 ft, macho minnows and buckshots tipped with live minnows.
