fishing n autograph Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Hey all, I was flipping around the channels today and came across a great show. Its relatively new, called Monster Fish. The host is a marine biologist that specializes in the largest fish in the world. Anyway, he goes around the world studying the largest freshwater fish in the world. The episode the I watched, the host was in Mongolia studying the timan (sp?) The world's largest trout. It was kind of cool, y'all should check it out Dave

MJL Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Was the host named Zeb Hogan?...Sounds very similar to the show Mega-fish (or something along those lines). Here's Zeb with a 'baby' taimen Been compiling a list of monster freshwater fish I wanna catch at least once in my lifetime since I was a kid: Sturgeon, taimen, mahseer, arapaima, giant amazonian catfish, etc...I'm sure after I catch a Taimen, I probably wouldn't look at steelhead the same again Edited December 4, 2009 by MJL
Kinger Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 That thing looks sweet! Do you need like a pool cue for a rod or what?
dave524 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Strangely looks like a Moray Eel crossed with an Atlantic
FLEX ROD Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 That thing looks sweet! Do you need like a pool cue for a rod or what? Actually no you don't, my dad use to catch them even on a fly with a fly rod. A fish that is on my must cacth list. FLEX
