Ignore the 30 seconds of rambling from the fiddler.

Just close yer eyes and think back to them simple days of CBC on the black and white, and the sweet smell of home cooking wafting from the kitchen as the lasts moments of the show were played on the fiddle and the ladies twirled. Brought a tear just to hear that old waltz and the images it conjures up.. First time I finally found it.

Anybody here remember the show?

Down in Newfie last week we went to a dinner theatre.

I woulda swore it was Don Messers...even Ann was there.

Gram was soooo upset when they cancelled the show, and she loathed Tommy Hunter. It was my Gram's TV, so certain shows were going to be watched, and that was that. She had good taste.

Charlie Chamberlain and Marg Osborne.

<Cue the music>

"Got my dancin' boots on, got my Sunday best,

Goin' to the barn-dance tonight..."

Something like that. :D

That was the opening and "Til we meet again" was the closing waltz.

Yep, after Hockey Night in Canada!

The good old days - Ed Sullivan, Bonanza, The Flintstones, Roy Rogers, Phil Silvers, George Gobel, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound --- I was a kid in the 50's and early 60's. ;)

Thats it...Marg, not Ann. This one was shaped the same and sung just like her.

I was a kid in the 60's and my dad was a downhomer so I was forced to watch it.
