TJQ Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Anybody know what the procedure is for US visitors, I know they dont need a card, do they fill out a waiver or something??
Greencoachdog Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 When I took my boat to Canada last year I had to register it at the border and that was it. I feel pretty sure that Canada would honor my Alabama boating license if I was ever checked.

Greencoachdog Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Yeah, but they also let you drink 'shine in the boat in 'bama, don't they? Only if you don't get caught .... our "open container" law applies to the road and the water.
CLofchik Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 If a US visitor AND their boat is in Canada for 45 days or less they only have to follow their local regulations (PFD's, throwing devices, licenses). Ontario's open container laws apply though AND the 0.05 restriction on operating a boat.
Woodsman Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 If a non resident of Canada is operating a Canadian licensed or registered watercraft, than they are required to meet the Canadian Operator Competency requirements.
