Burtess Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) As a parallel to WalleyeMaster's thread "Favorite drink" I thought I would ask what is your favorite food to prepare while icefishing.... I am heading out tomorrow with a friend, what should I cook on the one-burner for lunch???? Burt Edited January 23, 2009 by Burtess
Sinker Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 grilled cheese!! I also like venvison or goose jerky or pepperettes. I can't stop jigging long enough to actually cook something out there.......I'm lucky to stop long enough to wolf down a pepperette!!! Sinker
Leecher Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Fish fry.... that is if you catch any before lunch
Clampet Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Apparently Cooks bay on Lake Simcoe will have a chipstand/burger shack on ice starting this week-end.
bigugli Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I'm usually too busy on the ice to be munching on anything.
douG Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Habitant Pea Soup, add a cut up wiener or 2. Cut up some pieces of cheddar for the side plate, and some bread to wipe the bowl. Cuppa tea and a Crispy Crunch, good to go. Or just bring gweeches.
Beans Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 A thermos of chicken broth and a couple of spam g'weeches...lots of fat content to help keep you warm...some shortcake cookies... unless... You are at the Tyler G2G...then it is a sausage-on-a-bun mit saurkraut (worth at least a $5 donation)
