FISHINGNUT Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Just wondering with these cold temps do you think it turns the bite OFF ?Air temps shouldnt affect the mood of the fish would it? Just curious what anybody else thought
joonmoon Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Air temp might not affect the bite but the barometric pressure changes sure will and sometimes wind as well depending on where you fish.
Ramble Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Not this time of year, as it doesnt influence water temperature. But in the summer...thats another story. THe high pressure associated with the cold we have should affect it. -Dave
Sinker Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Didn't seem to bother the fish the last 2 days on Simcoe!! Sinker

LeXXington Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 colder temps mean less people -- better fishing

Vanselena Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Did a long term study on this a few years back. Colder trends definitely chill the bite and Warming trends after a long cooling trend definitely heats up the bite.
Sinker Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Doesn't matter if its cold or warm, as long as you've had stable weather for a few days in a row. Sinker
buckster Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 i have to agree with sinker stable weather is what you want, be it hot or cold. There are always active fish u just gotta find them!
