Leecher Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Well guys the plan was for the three amigos Fishing 24/7, whitespinnerbait and me to go to Lac leamy and try for the elusive walleyes. Got there at around 9:30am this morning, temperature -16C with 10 Km north east winds and sunny..... just what the doctor ordered Since it was our first time going this year, as soon as we arrived at our spot on shore we drilled a hole with the auger to check the ice thinkness...... 4" of black and 2" of white..... safe to walk on and got setup. Since this lake is in zone 10 and part of the Gatineau river we were only allowed dead minnows. I was fishing in 8' to 10' fow on top of a weed bed. As soon as I had my first tipup ready.... I get a hit.... turn around and start to pull in the line only to see a decent perch make a U turn at the top of the hole Got a couple more tipups setup and it was none stop action, a lot of hit and miss but truly lots of fun. Took a pic of my tipups and the other two amigos jigging away A few hit & miss later and I get my first perch.... about 9" Since the perch was somewhat active, I truly believe that we would hook into some eyes but alas wasn't meant to be Got into a few more and at around 2:00pm called it a day.... here a few pics Fishing 24/7 got one jigging Was great to be out on the ice and had a great time amongst friends Hope you enjoy Jacques aka Leechman
